Job Scope:

Part time: 6- 8 hours per week, Worship service is on Sunday afternoons, currently at 4 p.m. Midweek or preservice practice with team.

 

Job Description:

PURPOSE:

  • The Worship Pastor leads/directs the worship team and the congregation of Southside Christian Center in worshipping God in the Sunday service.
  • This person must be a worshipper in private as well as in public, and must have a great desire to lead the Body of Christ in praise.

 

 

EXPECTATIONS:

  • Passion and love for worship; call to serve in this role.
  • Growing personal relationship with Jesus Christ evidence by action, attitude and behavior.
  • Ability to embrace the vision, values and statement of faith of Southside Christian Center.
  • A working knowledge of music
  • Preferred Skilled instrumentalist (able to lead from guitar/piano)
  • Provide direction and leadership to worship ministry volunteers.
  • Able to provide administration for the Worship Ministry, as well as being able to follow through on details.
  • Possess the ability to embrace innovation and creativity while adapting to growth and change.
  • Possess the ability to use appropriate judgement, discretion, sensitivity, and confidentiality.
  • Research and implement current worship music in services
  • Possess and develop leadership skills using a cooperative, collaborative team leadership style.
  • Possess strong interpersonal skills in working with team members, supervisors, and volunteers.

 

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Lead/oversee all worship services and rehearsals
  • Plan worship sets
  • Recruit, schedule, develop and mentor volunteer instrumentalists, vocalists, songwriters and emerging worship leaders.
  • Lead the formation of a worship team(s) that fosters good communication and a strong sense of community among all the volunteers.
  • Develop an annual vision plan for the music ministry.
