About the Church:

We have partnered with a growing, mainline church in the midwestern United States. This church possesses rich history balanced with modern worship services and relevant messages. They are seeking a NextGen Pastor who will train, mentor and lead their dedicated volunteer workers in the children's and youth ministries. There is special emphasis on the children's ministry (pre K-5); as they serve a community of young families seeking excellence in their Sunday school programming.

This person will work with the lead pastor, staff and strong volunteer teams as a leader of leaders to expand our ministry to all ages, with a primary emphasis on discipleship and equipping the next generation. Initial goals in the position will include:

- Spending a significant amount of time developing and leading a sustainable children’s ministry, encompassing all aspects of Sunday morning programming (based on the Orange strategy, whatisorange.com), volunteer recruitment, training, and creating an engaging environment where kids love to learn and grow in their faith.

- Work alongside our existing team of volunteers to provide leadership to our active and growing Wednesday evening youth ministry (6-12th grade).

- Serve as part of the pastoral team, working to incorporate all ages in as many aspects of the church as possible. This will include providing direction, vision and leadership to various areas of ministry, pastoral care to families with children, outreach, and other responsibilities as needed.

The successful candidate will have strong relational skills, administration and coordination, a passion to equip others, a calling to disciple children and adults in a multigenerational church, and an excitement about being part of a larger team working together toward common goals.

This is a full time, salary position with excellent full benefits available. Salary will be competitive based on qualifications and experience.

Role Responsibilities:

The NextGen Pastor will work in conjunction with the lead pastor, other staff and strong volunteer teams to expand our ministry to all ages, with an emphasis on children/youth (60%) and adult (40%) ministry. This position reports directly to the lead pastor and will be responsible for:

  1. Serving as part of the greater pastoral and staff team, incorporating all ages in as many aspects of the church as possible.
  2. Overseeing the children and youth ministries through coordinating and directing the implementation of its mission and vision.
  3. Working as part of a highly flexible staff and leadership team, helping in all areas of ministry to accomplish common goals.
  4. Assisting in other areas of ministry as needed, especially in worship and outreach.
