Position Title: Marketing Director

Department: Marketing & Communications 

Reports to: Director of Organization Development (OD) & Human Resources (HR)

Supervises: Graphic Arts Team, Online Team, Analytics Team, Photography Team, and Offline Team

Time Commitment: Part-time; variable schedule

Position Purpose:

The Marketing Director serves in the critical role of ensuring that the message of the Senior Pastor is delivered throughout the church and in the community. Leading a diverse and creative team of volunteers and freelancers, the Marketing Director will provide strategic oversight through planning, executing, and evaluating marketing efforts for Messiah Community Church (MCC).

 

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direction and empower Marketing Teams to fulfill church-wide marketing needs ensuring timely delivery, accuracy and consistency with the brand in tone, look, voice, and delivery within two primary objectives:
  • Tell the MCC story – Develop and implement a system to capture stories of life change.
  • Marketing inside and outside of the church – Deliver messages through various distribution channels, serving as a brand ambassador. Digital content should be consistent and diverse in delivery. Daily social media content should rotate between inspiring, informing, and inviting engagement.
  • Collaborate with Ministry Team Leaders to plan, execute, and evaluate marketing strategies in support of MCC Vision Goals and Ministry Team needs; including, but is not limited to, content creation, digital and social media marketing, signage and print materials (handbills for sermon series, “Big days”, etc.).
  • Accomplishes Marketing & Communication Department goals by accepting ownership for deliverables, prioritizing workflow, proactively communicating and exploring opportunities to add value to the organization.
  • Collaborate with the Communications Director to ensure consistency in messaging.
  • Partners with IT Coordinator to ensure content of website and mobile app is accurate, relevant, and compelling.
  • Partners with the Director of OD & HR to establish and communicate systems and protocols in support of Marketing efforts.
  • Oversees and manages the Marketing budget for cost effective and quality products.
  • Builds the Marketing Team by establishing and maintaining necessary volunteer positions and on-boards volunteers consistent with MCC protocols and practices.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications:

  • Experience in marketing, advertising, and media within a business, church, or non-profit
  • Demonstrated experience leading people and building teams
  • Proven ability in creative thinking, systems management, and problem solving
  • Exceptional technical skills in written and oral communication, graphic design, web and multimedia including experience with the most current software and tools available in the marketplace
  • College degree preferred
