Department:                        Evangel Worship

Reports To:                         Senior Leadership Team

Work Schedule:                  Full-Time (40+ hours per week)

 

Position Summary

The Worship Director oversees all aspects of worship and worship technology across all services and all campuses. They shall oversee the presentation and continual development of the church’s brand and message through various mediums and voices to insure an accurate and uniform look and voice that would be consistent with the Lead Pastor’s vision. This includes brainstorming and strategizing key weekends as well as organizing the weekend calendar and service orders. They will work in direct collaboration with the Departmental Leadership Team and the Senior Leadership Team.

The Worship Director is required to perform a range of duties including, but not limited to:

 

General Oversight

  • Develop and lead a growing team of volunteers and paid staff committed to building thriving and excellent worship and worship tech ministries
  • Provide quality control to all aspects of weekend services in regards to presentation
  • Develop and maintain the weekend planning calendar
  • Responsible for times of team building and vision-casting for the department
  • Foster and provide a culture of spiritual oversight and care for all team members
  • Plan and budget for future projects and opportunities
  • Ensure good communication between all weekend services ministries
  • Give high-level oversight to all weekend services scheduling
  • Work on planning and developing special events (Underground Church, INSPIRE, etc.)

Worship

  • Coordination and management of all aspects of worship in support of the Lead Pastor’s vision
  • Develop worship leaders for every service and campus
  • Enlist the help of team members and/or take personal responsibility for the maintaining of quality musicianship by each worship team

Worship Technology

  • Enlist the help of team members or take personal responsibility for the maintaining of quality production in every service and on every campus
  • Provide accountability for a high level of excellence and execution in all production elements
  • Supervise maintenance and acquisition of music and technology equipment

Creative Leadership

  • Manage the full scope of planning key weekends and celebrations beginning far enough in advance to see these experiences fully developed and raising the bar each year
  • Oversee the overall development of regularly successful weekly experiences

Other Functions

  • General office tech support as needed
  • Oversee success of all staff and essential functions responsible to this director position

Qualifications

  • General computer proficiency: MS Word, PowerPoint; Planning Center Online (PCO), ProPresenter
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of an organization            
  • Demonstrate professionalism and poise when communicating with external contacts
  • Excellent time management skills, attention to detail and ability to multi-task
  • Strong organizational skills; the capacity to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong people skills

Education

Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.) from a four-year college or university or related experience.

 

Experience

Preference given to those with at least 4 to 5 years related experience.
