Responsible to:  Lead Pastor & Executive Pastor


This person works for the Lead Pastor and the Lead Pastor is their supervisor.  The Executive Pastor will assist the Lead Pastor in serving to assure effective and appropriate implementation of the vision, values and mission of the church.




  • He/She will assist the Lead Pastor in ministering to families with children and adolescents in New Life church.
  • He/She will provide oversight, direction, and training for all who work with children and adolescents in New Life Church.
  • Actively build relationships with students by attending sporting or school events, hanging out at other venues, and visiting high schools to have lunch with students.
  • Prepare and plan for the main children’s ministries on Sunday mornings - providing “hands on” leadership for the larger groups, while recruiting, training, resourcing a host of Dream Team members for smaller groups on Sunday mornings and Wednesday nights. 
  • Oversee Student Ministry Dream Team leaders who lead in small groups, while planning, preparing and leading a larger group Worship & Teaching service 1-2 times per month. 
  • Oversee the planning of larger events quarterly for both children and students. 
  • Ensure that every Dream Team Servant Leader with minors completes the New Life Growth Track, and Ministry Training (video & audio), following the Ministry Guidebook and completing the Ministry Response, which includes becoming a member of New Life Church. 
  • Coordinate and steward all the necessary rooms and equipment, assisting the custodians by keeping all areas and equipment pertaining to the area ministry organized, neat, clean and in order.
  • Develop high-quality promotional material for events and activities.
  • He/She will work alongside the Pastoral Team in mutual support.
  • He/She will oversee an overall plan for the discipleship life of children and adolescents in New Life Church.
  • He/She will assist in family counseling for families in crises due to misbehavior of minors.
  • He/She will assist in ministry development in all areas of New Life Church (assisting with Growth Track process of discovering of gifts and placement of ministry, regardless of the gift the person has or the area in which they may serve).
  • He/She will serve on the Upward Leadership Team and participate in that ministry during Upward season. 
  • He/She will, under the direction of the Lead Pastor and Executive Pastor, be responsible for all the teaching and who is selected to provide the teaching for minors, and assist in all areas of ministry as needed. 
  • To remain teachable and submissive to the mission, vision and direction from the Lead Pastor.
  • To be willing to be taught, mentored, and guided in ministry, according to the vision and philosophy of the Lead Pastor, without feeling “micro-managed”. 
  • To be a shepherd over those under them in ministry.  To be a strong leader and make decisions pertinent to the ministry while maintaining a caring and compassionate attitude toward those to whom they minister.
  • Regularly invest time in dreaming, praying and planning for the ministry, as directed by the Holy Spirit.
  • Be prepared to assist with water baptisms, communion, weddings, funerals, teaching, administration, and conducting regular worship services when needed.
  • Be available to attend any services of the church as needed.
  • Actively develop healthy relationships with other pastors and staff members while building and maintaining a strong team environment, which is necessary to fully serve and support the ministries and events of New Life Church.
  • Attend and actively participate in staff meetings, events and retreats as requested. 
  • Each Pastor will assist the other Pastors as needed or as directed by the Lead Pastor or Executive Pastor in idea sharing, training, administration, or any area of ministry as needed, regardless of age or primary responsibility.
  • Each Pastor shall evangelize, teach, preach, train, comfort, counsel, visit, etc.
  • Actively participate in or lead a small group.
  • Attentively be “on call” for church emergencies.
  • Openly communicate questions or concerns about the position or ministry as they arise.
  • Anything else the Lead Pastor deems necessary.
