Job Description:

Faith Community Church, Fort Atkinson, WI, is seeking to fill the position of Associate Pastor, Adult Discipleship.   Faith Community Church is an evangelical, non-denominational church located in southeastern Wisconsin.  Our church family is multi-generational, with a Sunday worship of around 450 and children and youth ministries that extend into the local community. 


Job Purpose

The primary role of the Associate Pastor of Adult Discipleship at Faith Community Church is to foster the spiritual growth of the body of believers, intentionally encouraging family discipleship.


Necessary competencies

  • Will have claimed Jesus Christ as his personal Savior from sin, and will display a passionate pursuit of Him in personal and family life
  • Will love the Word of God and display a desire to see others come to know and love it, both within the church and outside it’s doors
  • Will display genuine love for people in Jesus’ name, both within the church body as well as “the world” out in the local community
  • Will be in complete agreement with the Faith Community Church statement of faith and display a commitment to unity within the church leadership and body

Skills and Experience

  • Teaching--skill in teaching the Word of God out of a depth of knowledge gained through education and personal experience
  • Group administration--the ability to accomplish spiritual growth while helping individuals feel loved and appreciated
  • Demonstrated experience in teaching, training and discipling of new and growing Christians, as evidenced by their personal testimony and reputation within their church body


Working Relationships

  • This position reports to and is supervised by the Senior Pastor on a day to day basis, and is ultimately under the Biblical authority of the Board of Elders
  • The person in this position will work alongside the other staff members towards effective ministry, aiding them in their specific areas of ministry as needed


  • 25% - Teach, coordinate and promote adult Family Bible Hour classes, working together with our current qualified teachers to provide a comprehensive course from new believer to mature in Christ.
  • 25% - Aiding in church leadership and ministry responsibilities.  This can include but is not limited to staff meetings, elder meetings, visiting sick/elderly, weddings and funerals, coordinating events for congregational fellowship and outreach, and similar.  This also will include occasional Bible teaching during Sunday morning services and Saturday Night Worship.
  • 20% - Administrate and promote small groups within the church body, creating new opportunities to join and providing quality materials which will allow for spiritual growth
  • 20% - Address the assimilation needs of newcomers, allowing them to plug into growth and service opportunities within the church body
  • 10% - Oversee Men’s and Women’s ministries as staff liaison and initiate intentional, equipping ministry to young families.



Education – a seminary degree is desirable, but a four year degree with 3-5 year ministry experience will be acceptable with the right candidate
