BUSINESS ADMINISTRATOR

Bethel Lutheran Church

Rochester, MN

 

Bethel Lutheran Church is a dynamic and mission-driven ELCA congregation in Rochester, MN, seeking a well-qualified candidate responsible for the day-to-day operation of a broad variety of church functions.  The Business Administrator reports to and works closely with the Executive Pastor.  Areas of responsibility for this full-time position include, but are not limited to:  finance and general bookkeeping, budget preparation, human resources and supervision of staff, technology, and strategic planning.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

 

Desired Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Considerable knowledge and experience in financial management, fund accounting and bookkeeping practices

  • Understanding of generally accepted accounting principles

  • Experience using accounting software

  • Ability to prepare and maintain accurate and complete financial reports

  • Supervisory experience, including hiring, training and performance management

  • Previous work experience in or knowledge of church operations advantageous

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills as well as strong problem solving and critical thinking skills

  • Organized and detail-oriented, adaptable

  • Team player

  • Proficient in use of technology

  • Business process improvement experience

 

Education:

Bachelor’s degree preferred. The Business Administrator should have business management/administrative/accounting and finance experience.  Knowledge of the dynamics involved in a non-profit organization is helpful.

 

Salary & Benefits Package:

Starting salary range $55,000 - $75,000, depending on qualifications.  Medical and retirement benefits also available.
