Job Description:

Family Worship Center of Beaumont is in search of a Worship Pastor / Minister of Music.  This position is part-time in pay with the great possibility of full-time as the church continues to grow.  Family Worship Center is a church of 100-150 in attendance and is located in Beaumont, Texas.





A.  To develop a church body in which there is spontaneous, creative, deliberate, and sincere worship of God.  To create a celebratory atmosphere motivated by a love, commitment, and recognition of the Lord’s Glory and Mercy.


B.  To bring the church together into a loving, caring, accepting, and trusting community by the power of the Holy Spirit.  Encourage a fellowship in which both social and spiritual needs can be met as people commit themselves, not only to God but also to one another.


C.  To have a ministry in which Biblical Worship and Biblical teaching and peaching is not only encouraged but made a priority.



  1. General Responsibilities

A.     Oversee the Worship and Music Ministry of Family Worship Center.

B.     Coordinate and/or direct all activities related to worship.

C.     Develop individuals and small groups to sing specials.

D.     Coordinate presentation of “outside” musical guests.

E.     Supervise sound system and all musical maintenance and upkeep

F.     Seek out and discover new talent


   2. Specific Responsibilities

A.     Work in harmony with the total church program.

B.     Present major musical productions during the year involving the local church talent.

C.     Selecting leaders in music ministry (singers, musicians, etc..)

D.     Approve music / songs, keeping an eye on the “diet” of songs to prevent repetition.

E.     Participate in ministerial staff meetings as set by the Senior Pastor. 

F.     Meet weekly to practice for Sunday and work up new songs and dramatic presentations in worship


   3. Other Responsibilities

A.        Maintain office hours that achieve a balance between the expectations for a member of the church staff and the realities of effective and productive Church & Music Ministry.




A.   Senior Pastor--The Minister of Music is directly accountable to the Senior Pastor in all matters relating to the performance of their work, they will serve as advisor to the Pastor in matters relating to Music Ministry and will present personally the Music Ministry budget, goals, vision, and program strategies.  At the pastor's discretion the Minister of Music may be available as a resource member of the church elder board.


B.   Other Staff Members— the minster of music will cooperate and work as a "team" member with other staff, they will seek to compliment and build other staff ministries, accepting differences, praising strengths, and appreciating overlapping skills.



A.  The Worship Pastor / Minister of Music will keep the senior pastor informed of all work and activity for which they are responsible


B.   When the job of staff members overlap, consultation and cooperation is expected for the sake of efficiency, harmony, and maximum ministry to the congregation.


C.   The Minister of Music shall accept as his responsibility the communications and promotion of activities (dates, times, necessary information) to the congregation through announcements, mailings, church bulletins, etc.


V.             EXPECTATIONS


A.  The Worship Pastor / Minister of Music will be expected to be a regular attender of all services. With vacation time allotted annually.

B.  The Worship Pastor / Minister of Music will be expected to have musically ability, such as play an instrument (ie guitar, piano etc), ability to read music, lead praise team or choir, etc.

C.  Successful candidate will be able to flow in the Holy Spirit and possess the ability to continue in that flow in worship, altar calls etc.

D.  Successful candidate will be in agreement of the statement of faith and beliefs of Family Worship Center
