REPORTS TO:  Executive Pastor

POSITION TYPE: Full-time, partical

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION: The Bay Area Campus Pastor will contribute to Bay Area's mission of making passionate, maturing followers of Jesus from here to the nations and serve as the lead staff position at one of our campuses. The Campus Pastor is a high-caliber leader who serves as the "face" of Bay Area and is primarily responsible for all ministry teams, programs and volunteers at the campus. This includes the role of building teams, identifying leaders, managing for quality, solving problems, championing the DNA and mission of Bay Area through leadership and shepherding.




  • 3-5 years of ministry experience. Pastoral experience preferred.
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in ministry or Bible.
  • Spiritually mature: models the lifestyle of a passionate, maturing follower of Jesus
  • Enthusiastically models God’s vision for Bay Area
  • Strong oversight skills and attention to people
  • Willingness to work flexible hours
  • Reliable, hard worker who multitasks well
  • Self-starter who shows initiative and innovation skills
  • Ability to contextualize ministry to the location of the campus
  • Ability to prioritize and to be flexible
  • Team player who works well with various personalities and has consistent positive influence with the campus team

  1. Leader
  • Steward the vision of Bay Area Community Church.
  • Emphasize ongoing discipleship process while driving the body toward the lost.
  • Raise and develop key ministry leaders such as staff and residents.
  • Ensure good direction and decisions for the campus.
  • Recruit, develop and oversee all ministry/staff leaders at the campus.
  • Oversee all systems such as administrative, communications, financials, etc.
  • Promote continual church and campus planting.
  • Function as the key liaison to other campuses.


  1. Shepherd
  • Function as a pastor-shepherd to the body with an awareness of felt needs.
  • Monitor the theological health of the church.
  • Be an upfront presence in the gatherings through speaking and praying.
  • Oversee the ordinances of communion and baptism.
  • Lead connection meetings such as Discover, Missional Community Tasters and Ministry Partner Orientations.
  • Ensure care for ministry partners.
  • Counsel and perform weddings and funerals as needed.



  • Maintain a healthy spiritual walk with Christ.
  • Display and pursue the character and qualities of an elder.
  • Engage as a devoted and practicing member of Bay Area.
  • Continue leadership and ministry training as a lifelong learner.
