Job Description:

Lancaster First Assembly (LFA) is an Assembly of God church located in the heart of the Antelope Valley. We are poised to make a huge kingdom impact in our community. With close to a 1,000 people gathering each weekend to worship and experience God through our services, the excitement for what He is doing is contagious. We aren't afraid to push ourselves in evangelism to see people far from God come to know Jesus. We are a diverse church, with people from all different church backgrounds - and walks of life. We also like to laugh and enjoy each other along the way!

LFA’s vision is to lead people to Love God and Make a Difference...because people matter!  We don’t like to beat around the bush and play church, but instead motivate and activate His followers to go and be the church.  LFA has a contemporary, down to earth feel. We connect people through Life Groups and serving opportunities.

This role will have oversight of all ministry areas involving children from birth-high school (with a primary leadership focus over kids ministry). The purpose of this position is to align, engage, and empower the family ministry at large. This person will have oversight of programming development and operational management of the ministry, with responsibility to recruit, equip, shepherd, and maintain all staff and volunteer teams. The individual will be an effective builder of ministries, a developer of leaders, and an influencer with exceedingly gifted communication abilities.

The next Children's Pastor at LFA must be passionate about making disciples, doing life with kids through leading of teams, partnering with parents, and multiplication. They will give oversight to a dynamic ministry team and must be a culture creator with a connecting personality.
The work environment is fast-paced and driven.  LFA allows staff to self-regulate time management to create healthy margin between ministry and family.  The Children's Pastor will need to have strong self-leadership, a proven track record of developing others, be highly relational and hard wired to work with teams. LFA is not looking for a creator of programs but a developer of people.

  • Minimum of 2-3 years’ experience as a staff member in a ministry leadership capacity leading a Children's ministry of at least 200+ children and have a proven history of demonstrating spiritual maturity in their ministry.
  • Strong leader with a solid work ethic and ability to point-lead an established and growing leadership base
  • Skilled in identifying, attracting, and recruiting new leaders.
  • Experience in empowering people and leading teams of staff and volunteers.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Successful leadership experience in vision setting.
