Responsible for:

The Technical Arts Director will be primarily responsible for the following:

  • Managing the team that executes all of the live production, events, and services with emphasis on excellence for Traditional and Contemporary worship services
  • Manages event scheduling and ensures church events are staffed for technical needs.
  • Manages the process of recruiting, training, scheduling and deploying volunteers for live production execution in both contemporary and traditional settings. Including the teams for sound, lighting, video, computer graphics display, stage management and other production needs.
  • Attends weekly planning meetings, creative team meetings and other meeting related to live worship or production that may be developed as processes change and grow to accommodate church growth.
  • Manages the production budget, including capital equipment projections.
  • Maintains tech areas for cleanliness, and tech equipment maintenance for extended life.
  • Assists other ministry areas with production needs, including mid-week services and events.  Also consults with these ministries and assists them in training, installation and general best practices.
  • Teams with the Directors of Worship for service and stage design that cultivates an environment conducive to impactful, intimate and memorable worship experiences.
  • Effectively communicate service and event programming to production staff and volunteers, and equip them with the appropriate tools and knowledge to successfully execute.





  • Experience with managing and leading diverse staff teams.
  • Track record of successful experience with recruiting, training and deploying large teams of volunteers.
  • Relational intelligence.
  • Bachelor degree preferred; paid large church technical staff experience preferred.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work positively in a team-based environment.
  • Understanding of and willingness to reach for a high standard of excellence.
  • Ability to lead change amongst diverse teams in a collegial manner.
