About the Organization:

Preston Trail Community Church is located in the heart of the fastest growing area in Dallas-Fort Worth.

In the fall of 2001, a dream was born in the hearts of Paul Basden and Jim Johnson. The two longtime friends were senior pastors of large, denominational churches in the Southeast; positions that granted influence, respect and job security. Nevertheless, they determined to uproot their families and move a thousand miles away to Frisco, Texas with the goal of starting a new church for people who had given up on church, but not on God. Upon many facility transitions, growth in attendance, and ministry developments over the years, the church hosts approximately 3,600 on weekends, drawing people from core regional corners of the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex.


The mission of Preston Trail reflects the mission of Jesus, and from the very beginning our mission has not wavered: helping people find and follow Jesus Christ. The church staff is known for maintaining a spirit of teamwork, exuding servant leadership, and efficiently managing all operations of the church. Fueled by love and grace, the church has a healthy culture, with a sense of both camaraderie and community. The church seeks to create environments where believers can gather on the weekend, connect with a group, serve the church and engage their world, as they find and follow Jesus in pursuit of becoming entirely new people transformed by His grace.

About the Position:

The Production Director will provide engaging, relevant, and memorable large group experiences for TrailKids (Birth – Grade 5 programming). This includes all campuses as a part of the GATHER strategy at Preston Trail. This position will support the vision of the Elementary Director (and Family Ministry Pastor) by helping drive the culture and environment of TrailKids. The successful candidate for this role will create a culture within the ministry where students are excited, motivated, and enjoys attending church each week.

Success in this role will be determined by:

  • A well-established production department evident within the ministry
  • Kids ministry production is on the 'next level'
  • A developed team that is equipped and relationally connected
  • Large group environments in the ministry are on a similar level of excellence as student and adult services

What We Are Searching For/Qualifications:

A college degree is preferred.

Experience and skills for the role will include the following: 

  • 2-3 years experience in ministry, preferably in production
  • A solid understanding of the Orange Curriculum
  • Highly organized, productive, detail oriented
  • Gifted communication abilities
  • High relationship IQ and people skills
  • Understanding of the creative process and creative people
  • Ability to lead, recruit, and vision cast to volunteers teams of adults and students
  • Strong multifaceted task management skills
  • Technical expertise in audio, lighting, and IMAG systems
  • Strong leadership aptitude, ready to provide training and shepherding to volunteers of different ages, personalities and gifting
  • Self-led, goal-oriented worker
  • A background in photography and videography and/or teaching/leading from the stage will be beneficial

About the Location:

The city of Frisco, Texas lies less than 30 miles north of Dallas and about 20 miles east of Denton. Located on the outskirts of northern Dallas, it is easily accessible to Dallas Love Field Airport, Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport, and Denton Municipal Airport.

Frisco has the benefit of small-town living with easy access to major metropolitan centers and all the opportunities that provides. Nearby Dallas is home to a wide and varied array of attractions, located less than 45 minutes away. Among these are the Dallas World Aquarium, the Dallas Arboretum, Six Flags Over Texas, Sixth Floor Museum, Dallas Heritage Village, the Dallas Zoo, and much more.

There are plenty of shops, restaurant, and art attractions, as well. Frisco is well known for their light displays around Christmas time. Homes and buildings are lit up and choreographed to dance along with cheerful holiday tunes.

Frisco is home to the Texas Tornado professional hockey team and the Dr Pepper Arena. Other local sports are the Frisco RoughRiders baseball team, the FC Dallas Major League Soccer, Dallas Stars hockey team, and the NBA Texas Legends. The Dallas Cowboys recently relocated to The Star in Frisco, a 91-acre campus that hosts their world headquarters and training facility.
