JOB DESCRIPTION

 

Communications Director

 

Purpose: The BCC Communications Director manages the overall BCC communications strategy, communications staff, and vendor relations, and is responsible for overall engagement with all Bethany locations. 

Location: Central Services, works out of BCC Green Lake Office

Reports To: Executive Director

FLSA Status: Exempt, Full-time

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manages overall communications strategy and staff
  • Oversees Bethany Brand and standards
  • Proactively drives the church communications calendar
  • Manages departmental workload and deadlines
  • Ensures client satisfaction
  • Enables and resources contributions of  volunteers and staff
  • Drives messaging for external communications and public relations
  • Builds overall communication plan
  • Develops systems that ensure deliverables and communications to clients
  • Individually contributes to content deliverables including design elements, video production, print materials, web and social media properties, as needed.

  • Experience with productivity software such as Google and Microsoft applications, graphic design software such as Adobe InDesign and Illustrator, and social media channels such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and others.
  • Experience in volunteer coordination, development, and empowerment

 

OTHER SPECIFICATIONS


Work Schedule: Typical work schedule is Monday through Friday, 40+ hours/week

 

Physical Demands: Must be able to work in an office environment, often at a computer workstation. Must be able to move between buildings on campus. Must be able to lift small boxes and/or equipment up to 25lbs.

 

Working Conditions: Due to seasonal activity, job duties may often require additional hours and availability outside normal working hours. May require flexibility to adjust work schedule from time to time to work early or later than regular schedule. The office environment is fast-paced and may be considered stressful, due to seemingly regular interruptions because of numerous urgent and unexpected requests that requires multi-tasking.    

                            

Compensation: Dependent on experience
