Discipleship Pastor 

The role of the Discipleship Pastor is to equip and lead people to become spiritually mature followers of Jesus as they pursue their next steps. Responsible for overseeing and providing visionary leadership, strategic focus and detailed management around the spiritual formation process for the people of Stonecreek Church. 


The Discipleship Pastor will be responsible for the following: 

1. Modeling Biblical Priorities: Responsible for upholding Biblical priorities and core values of Stonecreek Church. The Discipleship Pastor should represent a growing personal relationship with Christ. The Discipleship Pastor models a strong relationship with his or her spouse (if married) and children (if applicable). He or she strives to fulfill his or her purpose in life and ministry while demonstrating integrity in words, relationships and actions. 


2. Pastoring and equipping people to become spiritually mature followers of Jesus: Helping people to know and understand the spiritual pathway of Knowing Jesus, Following Jesus and Leading Others to do the same. These objectives are accomplished by: 

• Group Life - Working within the existing framework of community and developing an innovative structure to help lead people into a better understanding of becoming a “follower of Jesus that leads others to do the same.” 
• Recruiting, training, and deploying people into the leadership engine designed to train leaders (Huddles). 

• Multiplying Small Group Leaders - Intentional investment in leaders and focus on multiplying existing leadership base.
• Developing and evaluating intentional classes that can engage people into the pathway. 

• Overseeing special events like baptism, adult connection events, and any other activities that promote adults connecting and growing in their faith.
• Developing ministry expense budgets, and managing the resources with integrity and fiscal responsibility. 

• Supervising the discipleship and involvement teams. 


3. Develop and implement the strategy for Involvement: Overseeing the process of getting people engaged into the mission of Stonecreek Church. These objectives are accomplished by: 

• Implementing, managing, and improving the volunteer pipeline across all environments.
• Staying in communication with staff leaders and key volunteers to cast vision for the pipeline.

• Consistently promoting the volunteer recruiting strategy and evaluating and overseeing strategic tools such as the What’s Next Tours.
