Job Description:

Director of Harbor Kids

Our Church

Harbor Church is a non-denominational, Christian church located in Folsom, CA. Harbor began meeting in 2000 with the mission, “Seeking God’s heart, sharing His love.”

With the help of committed volunteers, Harbor Kids provides a safe and secure environment where children learn the truths of the Bible and hear the good news of Jesus Christ presented in ways they can understand. They experience caring relationships with their teachers and peers, and have a lot of fun learning together. We value children and place a high priority on our ministry to them. Each of our volunteers has a love for God, a love for children, and a passion for helping them pursue a relationship with their Creator. Studies show that 85% of adults who claim to have a relationship with Christ entered that relationship between the ages of four and fourteen. Children matter to God and they matter to us!

Currently, Harbor Kids hosts three Sunday morning services (9:00, 10:30, and 12:00) utilizing five classrooms per service. God continues to bring families with kids of all ages to Harbor, and He is using this ministry to impact our church and community in exciting ways.

The Director of Harbor Kids will oversee all aspects of the children’s ministry.  Activities include, but are not limited to:

  • Work closely with our class coordinators and teachers to create relevant and creative lesson plans that will effectively reach our children.
  • Create and manage volunteer schedule
  • Train and encourage all volunteers
  • Create/edit/provide lesson plans

Statement of Faith:

About the Bible

We believe that the Bible is completely true, is uniquely and fully inspired by God and is the ultimate authority on all issues in the faith and practice of Christianity.

About God

We believe in only one God, the Creator of all things, perfect and existing as three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. The three equal persons of God have different qualities and functions.

About Jesus Christ

We believe Jesus Christ is truly God and he became truly man, united in one person.  Jesus was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born by a virgin.  He died on a cross, the sacrifice for our sins.  Three days later, he physically rose from the dead and ascended into the presence of God.

About the Holy Spirit

We believe in the Holy Spirit’s presence in the life of every Christian.  He provides godly guidance and godly power in our lives.

About People

We believe all people are created in the image of God and eternally loved by Him.  However, because of our rebellion against God, we became separated from God, and if we remain apart from Christ, we are forever condemned by our own choices.

About Salvation

We believe that salvation is both the forgiveness of our sins and the restoration of a proper relationship with our Creator.  Our salvation is from God and is a free gift found only in Jesus Christ.  God transfers his purity to us when we put our faith in only Christ for our salvation.

About the Church

We believe the Church consists of everyone who has received forgiveness through Jesus Christ.  The universal Church is expressed in local congregations throughout the world.  We value and respect all of God’s people and desire to partner with other churches in love and unity.

About the Return of Christ

We believe that Jesus Christ will physically return to the earth to judge all who have ever lived, and to complete history and the eternal plan of God.  Jesus will establish a new heaven and new earth where we will live and God will reign forever.
