Our campus is located about 40 minutes south of Chicago. We are looking for an experienced pastor with a heart for people who will manage and oversee the ministry of CLC Tinley Park under the leadership of our senior pastors (Jerry and Chris McQuay). We have 3 services each Sunday as well as midweek and active small groups throughout the week. 


Job Description—Campus Pastor


Position Title: Campus Pastor

Reports to: Executive Pastor

Relates closely to: The members of the each campus

Positions reporting to the Campus Pastor: All campus staff

Campus Size - 1,000 - 1350


Purpose of this position: To lead a campus of Christian Life Center so that it fulfills a defined mission and reflects the core values. Providing leadership would include the five key functions of Campus Leadership, Community Impact, Stewardship, Church Ministry and Shepherd.




Campus Development Responsibilities—35% - This is the role of supporting and enabling people to meaningfully engage in the work of the church. This includes supervision of Pastoral and Directorial Staff, volunteers and (non-pastoral) paid staff.


To develop the volunteer leadership team to provide leadership for the ministries of CLC that are fulfilling their defined mission and reflects our core values at the campus.


To lead staff meetings and staff development at the campus level.


Be available to the staff and directors to assist in making on-going decisions that are needed to keep the ministries moving forward.


To assist ministry leaders in fulfilling their assigned mission and tasks by helping with their planning and budgeting processes, identifying obstacles and providing resources, and helping resolve any interpersonal conflicts.


To implement leadership pipeline and provide resources for the campus leadership to develop gifts and recruit and impact volunteers.


To coach ministry directors in their ministry and personal growth. Providing insight and resources to create a healthy home and work balance and productivity.



Community Impact Responsibilities—25%% - As a voice to the local community the campus pastor must assess the needs of the community and align the actions of the campus to impact the community within the vision of Christian Life Center.


To create events that impact the community to meet needs that fall under the missions plan of Christian Life Center


To develop relationships within the community in order to have influence in leading the local community to include a Godly Spiritual component.


To create a positive face to the community of who Christian Life Center is, but more importantly a loving God.


To answer the communities need for leadership, support, healing and unity.


To develop relationships within the community religious organizations and coordinate networking opportunities to work together within the Kingdom.






Church Ministry Responsibilities—20% -Ensures the church is a vibrant effective resource for the growth and development of visitors, members and leadership at the campus.


To manage the on-going assimilation process of visitors and guests to membership through the growth track.


To oversee the ministries within CLC to create growth, discipleship, development and effectiveness in ministry of the following areas; Worship, Childrens', Students, First Touch, and Life Groups.


Seek to build unity and a passionate submission to God in each ministry and in each relationship, and for each individual.


Implement reviews and evaluations of each ministry’s effectiveness and offer solutions and goals for leadership within each ministry.


To resolve conflict, build confidence, and connect each ministry to the main body of the CLC campus.


Creatively develop new paths or programs for discipleship within the core values of Christian Life Center at the campus level.







Stewardship Responsibilities—10% - Ensures the campus finances and operations are running smoothly, both central support and accountability of campuses.



To manage the on-going operations of campus support services, such as, financial functions, facilities management, communications, and personnel.


To identify and implement means to increase efficiency of campus support services. To work within the monthly and annual budget process.







Minister Responsibilities—10% - engages with people on staff, in the church or community on a personal and spiritual level to encourage them to develop their relationship with the Lord.


To walk consistently with the Lord and demonstrate faith and obedience in personal life and ministry.


To demonstrate a consistency of character between his walk with God, how he deals with people and how he fulfills his responsibilities.


To actively engage in an effective personal ministry to the congregation through teaching groups or classes and having individual appointments.


To conduct congregational care visits, be available for counseling weddings, funerals, etc. as needed.


To look for opportunities to share Christ and encourage believers to mature in Christ. Communicate the message on Sunday morning (Approx 4-6 times a year)
