Job Description:

The Assistant Youth Pastor is a member of the PAC Youth Team under the direction of the Youth Pastor. Together they embrace the mission and vision of PAC: Knowing God, Developing Community, and Bringing Hope to the World. To that end they support ministry to middle school and high school students and minister to the parents of students.

The Assistant Pastor of Youth Ministries is a full-time leader in the spiritual development of students between grades 6-8, with a secondary emphasis on the spiritual and leadership development a volunteer team. He or she provides experience and expertise to them in the following areas: 



  • Prayerfully and collaboratively set and communicate a vision, mission and action plan for the Middle School ministry in alignment with the strategy of PAC
  • Plan and coordinate execution of weekly Thursday and Sunday experiences, annual retreat, missions trip, and outreach events
  • Consistently evaluate all aspects of ministry in collaboration with others
  • Invest in what is healthy and reproducible in order to release, send and multiply


Leadership & Spiritual Development

  • Intentionally build and strengthen relationships inside and outside the church
  • Identify and cultivate the spiritual growth and leadership potential in students and volunteers
  • Develop and integrate new volunteers; provide foundational training, support and encouragement
  • Provide direction and supervision for the Youth Ministries Worship Coordinator

In concert with his or her daily responsibilities, the Pastor also participates in weekly staff development activities such as staff prayer and a staff meeting facilitated by PAC’s Executive Pastor. The Pastor is (or will become) involved in an active discipleship coaching relationship, a member of PAC (within six months of employment) and a regular attendee of Sunday services at PAC.


Educational requirements include a bachelor’s degree. Candidate has or is able to fulfill licensing / ordination requirements as set forth by the C&MA. Has experience in successfully leading a youth ministry through a period of significant longevity in a medium size church (+500).
