Summary

The opportunity at Christ Fellowship is to join a team that is clear about their mission and vision. We are looking for a Communications Pastor who is passionate about using Marketing Communications to creatively and effectively attract and engage people in our community to make Christ Fellowship their home church.

The Communications Pastor will be experienced and fluent in all aspects of Marketing Communications. The ideal candidate will have experience in corporate marketing as well as a strong background in local church or non-profit communications. We desire a creative candidate with vision who can collaborate and work in conjunction with the Worship, Online Campus and Communications Teams directly while supporting all ministries.

Working Relationships

The Communications Pastor reports to the Senior Associate Pastor Creative Media and has direct oversight and shepherding responsibilities to the communications staff and volunteers. The position is part of the Communications department. Support communications needs of ministry departments cross-functionally.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and shepherd communications department and staff
  • Develop core communications and engagement strategies for internal and external constituents
  • Direct and implement key communications technology upgrades and development (ie. websites, mobile app, etc.)
  • Identify and leverage new and emerging marketing channels to promote church awareness within targeted communities
  • Primary content manager for internal and external church communications
  • Develop and manage Communications budget
  • Recruit, train and shepherd volunteers
  • Provide pastoral care and fulfill pastoral duties, including pastor of the day/week, as required.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned by supervisor

Specific Skills/Strengths

  • Proven leader who can effectively implement the vision and values of Christ Fellowship
  • Strategic planner with a flair for creative ideas. “Why not?” personality.
  • Broad knowledge of marketing production processes (print, web, social, email, etc.) and project resource requirements
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite
  • Strong multi-tasking project management ability
  • Must be able to adapt to and manage high stress situations while exhibiting a Christ-like demeanor
  • Strong interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills

Experience Desired

  • Corporate or agency business experience preferred
  • 3+ years experience leading and shepherding a Communications team in a church or comparable organization strongly preferred
  • Bi-lingual preferred

Education Desired

  • Bachelors degree in Business, Marketing or related field strongly preferred

Work Environment and Physical Demands

  • Able to lift up 50 pounds and maneuver it (i.e. twist, push, pull, etc.) and be able to move heavy loads by hand and other similar actions periodically.
  • Must be able to remain stationary at least 50% of the time.
