Reports to:  Senior Pastor

Position Summary

The Student and Young Adult Intern for Bethany Baptist Church’s Student Ministry and Young Adult programs.

  • For young adults (college-early 30s), he or she will be responsible for the implementation of a sustainable young adult fellowship, beginning with a weekly Bible Study and progressing from there.

  • For Student Ministries (known as “4:12” from 1 Timothy 4:12), the intern will be working with an already established team of adult leaders. He or she will provide support, give vision to team and students, and maintain the ministry’s structure, while providing momentum for future ministry.  The intern does not need to create the program—it is already in place and the next year’s events and schedule are already planned. We need a leader to follow through with the plan.  There is always room for improvement, but our style in 4:12 has always been collaborative.  Whoever takes this position needs to value that.

This position is limited from mid-September 2017 to the same time in 2018.  Our current Student and Young Adult Ministries Director will be deployed for 12 months with the Army National Guard during that time.  When she returns from deployment, the job is still hers by Federal Statute.
