Riverside Baptist Church has ministered in Decatur officially since 1908.?Members of our congregation helped to construct the building that has been home to RBC from 1980 onward. “Bringing to Christ, Growing in Christ, Serving AS Christ” is our newly developed
mission statement, which we are actively implementing through community outreach, small groups and accountability partnerships along with Biblical teaching in our weekly services.??Our senior pastor, TJ Hahn, is a graduate of Moody Bible Institute. He served
as a youth pastor prior to coming to RBC in August 2015. Married for twelve years, he and his wife Heidi have four children.?? Averaging 120 on Sunday mornings, our church has struggled in recent years to attract young people and young families. In recent
months, we have welcomed several young couples into membership and active participation in the life of our church. One draw for young families is our Awana program on Wednesday nights. ??We are a friendly congregation with a history of strong emphasis on missions.
We are currently seeking to develop a relationship with churches in haiti for short term missions trips. We have a rich tradition of congregational singing and involvement musically.??Our worship style is blended, incorporating hymns and contemporary songs.
We desire to keep both elements. We have a current need for renewed energy to engage our people more actively in singing and worship. Currently we lack guitar and percussion alog with a confident worship leader. ??We would like to find someone who can work
on building a worship team to better minister to younger generations, while still respecting the older generations. Our pastor places a high priority on relationships and desires to work alongside another team player. He has a big heart for the youth and desires
to continue his involvement with them, but would like an associate pastor who will assist in leadership of youth ministries and college age. The Worship Pastor must have experience in leading worship services (preferably blended style). He must also have some
pastoral experience or Biblical training (preferably a B/A in biblical studies).
