RISING Church is in search of a full time Children’s Director to oversee the RISING Kids (RK) program. Ideal candidates have a mature spiritual foundation and a strong passion for leadership and children’s ministry. Candidates must be agree to become a member of RISING Church (within six months of employment) and embrace the RK Mission Statement:

Through a culturally relevant but Biblically reverent ministry, RISING Kids strives to partner with parents and equip them to be the primary disciplers of their own children so that kids will know Jesus, understand their place in His story, and want to follow His example of a life of servitude.

SUCCESS IN THIS ROLE LOOKS LIKE:


1.       MINISTRY & DISCIPLESHIP

  • Set the vision for RISING Kids ministry and future programming using RISING Church’s core values and mission statements
  • Oversee the nursery, preschool, elementary and 5th grade programs on Sunday mornings, and for monthly and special events; oversee and maintain a children’s advisory team
  • Recruit, schedule, oversee, train and equip volunteers to serve in the children’s ministry during Sunday mornings, special events and during other church related events
  • Build good relationships with volunteers, parents and the children in care; invest in those relationships by spending time with them outside of programming and church functions
  • Lead worship and teach elementary lessons in a large group worship setting
  • Plan and execute special events for RISING Kids which include but are not limited to VBS, RISING Kids Camp, RISING Weekend, From Hunger to Hope, playdates and service projects, etc.
  • Stay up-to- date on children’s ministry training, trends and education; attend a yearly conference or training
 
2.       ADMINISTRATION
  • Complete a background check and assist RISING Church staff in keeping volunteer background checks current
  • Maintain current First Aid and CPR training
  • Record attendance and offering in RK each week
  • Develop, maintain and stay within the defined children’s ministry budget
  • Develop and implement a multi-channel (parent) communications strategy, including social media, blog posts, podcasts, weekly newsletter, etc.; maintain the RISING Kids website
  • Be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel, Planning Center (volunteer software), InfusionSoft, and creative software programs; demonstrate the ability to learn, embrace and adapt to new technologies, including apps, software, computers and other tech equipment
  • Oversee and manage Student Summer Intern(s)
 

 3.       WEEKLY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Pray for RISING Church, staff, leaders, volunteers and the children
  • Attend weekly staff meetings and meetings called upon when necessary
  • Purchase and organize needed lesson supplies for children’s ministry age groups for all Sunday and special event programming
  • Confirm volunteers and recruit substitutes for adequate supervision and teaching on Sunday mornings
  • Assist in the set-up and clean-up on Sunday mornings and special events in the children’s areas
  • Wash and sanitize all necessary articles, supplies, equipment, toys and flooring
  • Maintain and store children’s supplies either at home or in storage unit; responsible for transporting supplies to all programming
