General Staff Expectations: Expectations include, but are not limited to the following:
- A mature personal relationship with Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord and a commitment to the nurturing of his/her spiritual journey.
- Weekly attendance at Epic and Exploration, all Leadership Meetings, community wide events and funerals hosted at or by TEC.
- Demonstration of, and commitment to, personal integrity, Christian character and the TEC core passions.
- Collegial and respectful engagement of all leaders, congregants, elders and staff.
Key Areas of Responsibility: Duties include, but are not limited to the following:
- Assist the Lead Pastor with managing and executing: the vision, mission and organizational clarity of The Emmaus Community; spiritual maturation of the congregation; financial fortitude and responsibility for the ministry; strengthened relationships within
the community of faith; and goal forecasting and organizational achievements.
- Coordinate, develop and direct all aspects of leadership in strategy, execution, ministry growth, vision, and volunteer network.
- Collaborate and initiate innovative strategies with other departments or ministry areas in order to expand and maximize ministry potential and impact.
- Provide supervision, operational oversight and support to staff and volunteers.
- Provide leadership to the Emmaus staff and congregation and serves as the lead executor in the absence of the Lead Pastor.
- Create and develop operational strategies and steward the resources entrusted to The Emmaus Community.
Operational and Strategic Areas of Responsibility:
Primary Responsibilities include direct responsibility for, or establishment of structures to achieve, the following goals:
- Provide oversight of the day-to-day operations of The Emmaus Community. This includes implementing the Lead Pastor’s vision while championing the values of the organization.
- Oversight of Operations budget process including collaborating with the Emmaus Finance Team and Business Manager to develop fiscally sound department budgets in alignment with The Emmaus Community mission, vision and values as strategically appropriate.
Will engage in regular reviews of budget vs. actual with each team.
- Under the direction of the Lead Pastor, development and oversight of plans for adapting church operations and related staff structures to current and future needs, including creation and implementation of multi-year maintenance strategy for facilities and
- In collaboration with the Emmaus Business Manager, responsible for the effective use and management of The Emmaus Community campus, including insurance needs, outside rental income, and calendaring of key events.
- Work under the authorization of the Lead Pastor in conjunction with the Table of Elders.
- Work as a member of the overall staff team toward the effective and faithful ministry of The Emmaus Community.

Education and/or Experience: Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, Church Ministry and Leadership or related field or experience; Master’s degree preferred. Minimum three years experience in business operations and/or organizational
or program management.
Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend complex instructions, correspondence, and memos. Ability to write lengthy, professional correspondence. Ability to effectively communicate complex concepts in a clear and fluid manner in one-on-one
and small group situations.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to understanding and carry out detailed, complex conceptual, written or oral instructions. Ability to creatively and efficiently handle problems involving complex variables in varying situations using business
Computer Skills: Advanced knowledge of Microsoft applications with emphasis on Excel, Word, and Outlook.
