One Sentence Description Of Primary Responsibility

Facilitating an ever-increasing network of engaging groups (community and affinity groups) that effectively foster Christian community.

Requirements For You

  • You must be very enthusiastic about finding ways to get people connected into relationships with each other. In fact, it needs to be the one thing, the main activity, that you want to do the most in your ministry (You need to want to do this more than Bible teaching, serving the needy, evangelism, Sunday School, or leading study groups, etc.)
  • Creating community must be a deep passion of yours
  • You must have high situational and emotional intelligence, enabling you to effectively plan events that will successfully cultivate community
  • You must have clear markers of relational and emotional health and be able to articulate how you recognize relational and emotional health in others

Secondary Responsibilities

  • Creating social space for regular attenders to connect with each other
  • Creating environments in which guests and new attenders feel welcome and accepted
  • Coaching, training, leading, and encouraging community group leaders
  • Coaching, training, leading, and encouraging affinity group leaders
  • Supervising the hospitality team
  • Supervising the visitation team (the “Checking-In Ministry”)
  • Supervising the mentoring ministry

  • Ability to recognize what factors in an environment maximize the likelihood of strangers “breaking the ice” with each other
  • Ability to recognize the key differences between a bland small-group experience and an interesting and edifying small-group experience
  • Situational intelligence: being able to think through what an average person will think, feel, and do in a hypothetical situation

  • A degree in a ministry-related field is strongly desired. However, any candidate that has relevant experience, competence (and can demonstrate that necessary competence) and passion will be seriously considered

In this position you’ll have the opportunity to:

  • Have a blast with a team of fun, likable people who are sold out to Jesus
  • Receive training to further develop your leadership skills and technical aptitude
  • Collaborate with team members about ministry initiatives, outreach programs, social events, and almost any idea that you’d like to propose

Salary will range from $30,000 to $50,000, depending on a large number of variables.

If interested please submit both a cover letter and resume.
