Green Bay First is a healthy body of believers on the West side of Green Bay. We are largely made up of young families, many of which have children under 5 years old. The last few years have been a time of much growth for our church. We have grown from an
attendance of around 80 to around 300 now. This includes adults in our English and Spanish services, as well as children.
We are a growing church primarily made up of young families. The church is currenlty in the middle of a very healthy transition from our former Lead Pastor. We love outreach to our community and had over 1100 people
at our Easter Outreach in 2016. We're expecting 1500+ in 2017.
Simply put, we are a church who desires to worship God, grow in Christ, and reach the world. We love the lost and we love the Truth. We don’t believe that it has to be one or the other to grow. That has been proven over the last few years as we’ve grown
both in our understanding/application of truth (even difficult truth)
and numerically. An overall welcoming, casual, loving and non-judgmental environment is what draws many people into the church. We embrace a mentality that Jesus loves people where they are, but Jesus loves people too much to leave them where they are.
The church values authenticity while encouraging courageous steps of faith in life.
Green Bay First has an empowered evangelical theology of the Holy Spirit, desiring a balanced openness to the work of the Spirit (seeking to draw from the best of the evangelical and charismatic/pentecostal traditions). There is a belief in the priesthood
of all believers that encourages people’s involvement in ministries, pastoral care and even baptisms. There is a commitment to being a balanced church with regard to evangelism and discipleship.
Green Bay First currently has the following positions on staff: Kids Pastor, Pre-School Pastor, Spanish Pastor, Creative Arts Pastor, Youth Pastor, Office Manager, and Financial Administrator. These positions are a combination of full time, part time, and
volunteer. The church is run by a board of Elders, of which the Lead Pastor is the chairman. Over the last four years, the church has adopted this philosophy of governance: pastor-led, staff-run, elder-advised. The elders are here to help and support the Lead
Pastor as he hears from God, not to micromanage him. The elders are also here for accountability purposes.
Green Bay First is looking for a strong collaborative leader and very capable preacher/teacher to lead us forward. We have a strong staff that desires leadership, mentorship, and development. This person should have at least a bachelor’s degree in ministry
and preferably a Master’s Degree or higher. He should be willing to be credentialed within the Assembly of God and will hopefully have Lead Pastor experience.
If you want to wear a suit and tie every Sunday, we’re probably not the church for you.
If you want to yell in tongues from the platform on Sunday or believe the gifts of the Spirit are not in use today, we’re probably not the church for you.
If you want to sing hymns a lot, we’re probably not the church for you.
If your leadership setting tends to be “dictator”, we’re probably not the church for you.
If you don’t like mentoring/developing leaders, we’re probably not the church for you.
If you’re not into preaching/teaching, we’re probably not the church for you.
If you can’t get over your NFL team and become a Packer fan (at least publicly), we’re probably not the church for you.
If you can’t handle a woman pastor/leader on your staff, we’re probably not the church for you.
If you don’t have a heart to reach Spanish-speaking people, we’re probably not the church for you.
