About the Organization:
Located in southern Louisville, Kentucky, Valley View Church (Valley View) was organized in 1940 and the first services were held in a small, white-frame building. There were 21 charter members. Today, Valley View has a debt-free campus of 35 acres and an
auditorium that seats nearly 1,500 people. The church has a passion for sharing the good news of Jesus Christ with people that are hurting and in need of a Savior. With two Sunday service times, as well as small groups and ministries, Valley View is intentional
about its discipleship strategy. The church strives to be relevant to culture and the changes of the surrounding community.

About the Position:
The role of the Worship Pastor is to oversee all aspects of Worship Ministry for Valley View Church under the direction of and in cooperation with the Senior Pastor. This will require a firm grasp of the beliefs and philosophy of ministry at Valley View
as well as the unique vision, mission, values, and strategy guiding this body to accomplish its purpose.
The Worship Pastor will lead all components of the worship programming including music, audio, video, lighting, creative elements and help in series planning. This is for both Sunday and Wednesday main services as well as various ministries in our strategic
The Worship Pastor supervises and develops worship leaders, as well as recruits, trains and fosters a culture of expertise in staff and all volunteers. This individual has a vision for Worship that supports and aligns with the model led by the Senior Pastor
with distinction and continuous improvement.
The Worship Pastor serves as a member of the Senior Leadership Team giving concern and leadership to the larger issues of the church outside of Worship Ministry. This position maintains a primary focus on the mission God has given Valley View but provides
the essential leadership necessary to lead in the church’s strategic piece of Worshipping Together. The successful candidate shepherds those under their pastoral care in the Worship philosophy and vision of the church, and inspires those around him to join
in the pursuit of the church Mission, Values, and Strategy.
What We Are Searching For/Qualifications:
A Bachelor of Science degree in Music or a related field is required, although a master’s degree in a similar field is preferred.
- A minimum of 3-5 years experience leading a dynamic worship ministry in a local church of a similar size.
- A background directing a contemporary choir is preferred.
- A solid understanding of harmonies.
- Capable of working with a variety of volunteers with musical knowledge and experience.
- An ability to read music and create arrangements/charts as necessary.
- Experience using in-ear monitors and utilizing click tracks on the platform when necessary.
- Ability to assess and develop potential in volunteers.
