About the Location:

Hampton, Georgia—Where history has a future. Established in 1873, the city is one of much tradition and history, but also incorporates change. A 100+ year-old train depot, listed on the National Registry of Historic Places, custom engraved bricks, renovated downtown facades, an old cotton mill converted into lofts, beautiful antebellum historic homes, and old oak trees line the streets of Hampton. Located in close proximity to metropolitan Atlanta, the city enjoys the best of both worlds—an intimate and relational environment, with city life merely 30-minutes away. The city is home to over 5,000 people, except twice a year, when the Atlanta Motor Speedway holds NASCAR races and it becomes the 8th largest city of the state.

The most common industries are manufacturing, retail trade, and educational services, with popular occupations in the areas of production, education, and sales. Seven colleges and universities exist within a 30-mile radius, with two high schools, two Christian schools, and several elementary schools in town. In 2012, Hampton also achieved the status of ‘Playful City’, one of 213 communities in the United States to be designated as such. Playful City meant that the City of Hampton encouraged and fostered active youngster participation. Living up to this title, the city is complete with playground equipment, tennis courts, soccer fields, basketball courts, and much more.

Hampton is a growing community working towards retaining their small town atmosphere, while moving forward into their future.
