About the Organization:
New Hope exists to Love God, Love People and Serve the World. Our church is in a unique location and position to reach the world locally in Jamaica, Queens and in the Greater NYC region. The nations are in our backyard, world influencers are throughout
our city, thousands of college students are in our neighborhood and the city is filled with people made in God’s image to serve and reach for the gospel.
New Hope was incorporated in 1997 with a vision of serving and reaching the urban and immigrant communities of Jamaica, Queens, NY. Under the 14-year pastorate of our outgoing senior pastor, Tom Richter, New Hope has established an impactful ministry around
local missions, community outreach, care for families, and small group communities. God has blessed the church with a multi-ethnic congregation that not only has a heart for reaching the communities surrounding the church, but demographically reflects a cross-section
of these communities as well. New Hope has seen growth in recent years and prayerfully desires to continue to make a significant local & global impact for Christ.
Throughout New Hope’s existence, the church has consistently strived to do ministry through creative and flexible ways to best steward the resources and location God has given us. As a ministry, we have always sought to convey biblical truth to our diverse
audience in culturally relevant ways. The people at New Hope love to serve and joyfully consider New Hope to be a family. New Hope has been supportive of two church plants in its history and we desire to grow in our ability to send and multiply.
The previous Senior Pastor was a very dynamic communicator, and much of the church’s ministry revolved around his preaching. Moving forward, the church desires to grow in its ability to assimilate new attendees into the life of the ministry, grow in leadership
development, better train its people for personal evangelism, and better practice life-on-life discipleship.
