Crossview Alliance Church is part of the Christian and Missionary Alliance (C&MA). We are a body of believers that is gospel-focused, Christ-centered and missions-minded. We are seeking a pastor who can lead the congregation to greater levels of effectiveness
in reaching and serving our community with the love of Jesus.
Crossview is in a community of 330,000, with a strong military presence nearby at Fort Bragg. We are a diverse congregation of local Carolinians, as well as active duty and retired military, government employees, and their families. We are predominantly
middle age and older, with some younger families and a few singles. Most young families are military; they face frequent separations due to deployments and training exercises, leaving spouses (usually wives) home with children for extended periods. There is
a large turnover among military families, who generally move every 2-3 years.
The solo pastor is to be a genuine man of prayer, the Word and be an approachable and authentic leader. He will be a gifted communicator of God’s Word who continues to be a learner himself. He will have earned at least a bachelor’s degree in biblical and
theological studies. His education, previous opportunities for service, and Christian life experience will have prepared him for pastoral ministry.
This pastor will preach in a manner that demonstrates the ability to carefully exegete Scripture as well as make practical personal applications. He will have a passion and ability to make the truths of Scripture relevant to those exploring the faith, as
well as to challenge more mature followers of Jesus.
He will have a clear spiritual calling to the role of senior pastor and meet the biblical qualification for eldership expressed in 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:5-9.
He will lead in developing the church’s vision and purpose with the elders. He will pursue the same in all planning and programming. He will disciple, develop, and empower leaders. He will provide pastoral care for the congregation through a grace-oriented
ministry. He will lead an evangelistic outreach and ministry. He will exhibit spiritual leadership capable of developing and working cooperatively with lay and staff leaders on the team. As a teambuilder, he must be able to cultivate and maintain a community
of authenticity and transparency, where the wounded and hurt can share their struggles honestly and receive grace and healing.
He will be licensed by the Christian & Missionary Alliance. C&MA ordained preferred. If applicant is not C&MA licensed or ordained, he must be willing to be licensed and ordained by the C&MA
