The Children’s Ministry Leader at Zoar Road Campus will develop, coordinate, and evaluate the ministries involving children and nursery by utilization of volunteer teams to support the mission of inviting all people into a living relationship with Jesus Christ.



  • Oversee Sunday AM programming from birth-5th grade via nursery, preschool and elementary environments utilizing Good Shepherd's curriculum
  • Recruit, select, equip, and lead volunteers for each aspect of children's ministry
  • Supervise lead volunteers and their teams to provide weekly children's programming at the Zoar campus
  • Assimilate children and their families into the GS Zoar community
  • Communicate regularly with parents and families of Zoar campus through email, social media and publications
  • Collaborate with the GS Children's Pastor to coordinate our preteen program (ClubHouse) for 4th & 5th grade students
  • Assist with churchwide initiatives
  • Help coordinate and attend ministry events for the Zoar Campus
  • Help to execute the strategy for growth at the Zoar Campus            


Position Requirements

  • Spiritually mature relationship with Jesus Christ
  • Affirms Good Shepherd's core beliefs, mission, values and life practices by word and example
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills with co-workers, kids, parents, and volunteers
  • Team player--who is positive, humble, and willing to learn
  • Adhere to the GS Staff Personnel Policy Guidelines
  • Experience overseeing and directing volunteers
  • Experience leading children's programming in a medium/large contemporary style church
  • BS or BA degree in related field
  • Aligns with the Orange strategy and family ministry approach to Children's ministry


Technical Requirements

  • Comfortable with a PC or Mac
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office products
  • Experience with or aptitude to learn Planning Center Online
  • Experience with or aptitude to learn ProPresenter
