Lead Pastor - Emmanuel Baptist Church, Hartsville, SC

Position Summary:
The Lead Pastor of Emmanuel Baptist Church will be a man called of God and set apart to the gospel ministry.  He will be conservative and biblical in doctrine and theology, in agreement with Emmanuel Baptist Church’s Statement of Faith (“Baptist Faith and Message,” 2000 edition) and committed to living and serving in a manner consistent with the standards set forth in Scripture for such a leader. He will exemplify godly character, and be compassionate in recognizing and meeting the needs of others.

The Lead Pastor will be accountable directly to the church body and to the Emmanuel Baptist Church Ministry Guidelines. He will work directly with the pastoral staff and deacons for personal and professional accountability.

· Preach and teach the Word of God
· Sustain the spiritual health of Emmanuel Baptist Church
· Provide overall leadership for the church, including, but not limited to: vision, values, strategy, operations, and ministry priorities.
· Manage and mentor the pastoral team of EBC
· Convey a professional and positive image and attitude regarding Emmanuel Baptist Church and Emmanuel Christian School
· Oversee the health and welfare of Emmanuel Christian School
· Participate in and/or oversee the planning of worship services and events
· Oversee and lead outreach and pastoral care efforts, including biblical counseling, performing weddings and conducting funeral services
· Oversee staff development and ensure that pastoral staff has resources necessary to fulfill their duties and responsibilities
· Lead the pastoral staff in setting forth both vision and direction for Emmanuel, ensuring our relevance to the community
· Be missions minded
· Be an action oriented, self-starter and team player
· Demonstrate commitment to continued professional growth and development
· Be accountable for any additional responsibilities as outlined in the Emmanuel Baptist Church Ministry Guidelines

Skills and Qualifications Desired:
· Saved, baptized, licensed, and ordained
· Confident and trustworthy
· A Bible college or seminary degree in theology, pastoral, or biblical studies or equivalent.  (Master of Divinity preferred)
· Ability to communicate well both when speaking and writing
· Possess organizational skills
· Attentive to detail and accuracy
· Exhibit a vibrant and growing relationship with Jesus Christ
· Five years of pastoral experience
