Position Title:        LBC Youth Creative Program Director

Reports to:            Youth Ministry Pastor

Payroll Status:       Full-time, salary

 

 

Position Summary:   The Creative Program Director will be the point person for developing engaging weekly programming for middle and high school students and leading out in creating events for students that offer opportunities for them to invite friends, have fun in community, and to experience more to life.  This person will take the series and weekly themes that the youth staff teaching team creates for the programs and design a full program experience for the students.   We are looking for a person who wholeheartedly loves Jesus and His church and has a passion for teenagers. This person will be part of the Student Ministry Team and will be given the opportunity to create engaging and powerful experiences for students. The ideal candidate is someone who is creative, innovative, self-starter, and passionate about students and designing environments where students can experience Jesus, have fun, and connect with each other.

The Details:

  • Middle School Programming 
  • Meet with youth staff weekly to discuss message series, talk with teacher for the week, and brainstorm programming elements
  • Develop weekly Sunday morning program for middle school students with the focus of discipleship/spiritual growth
  • Develop monthly Wednesday night program event for middle school students with the focus on engaging community students to help them plug into the small group ministry
  • Work with worship director, discipleship director, and administrative assistant to make sure all aspects of the program are covered including check-in, worship, tech, and small groups
  • Identify video and tech needs in advance and schedule with LBC’s video and tech team.
  • High School Programming
  • Meet with youth staff weekly to discuss message series, talk with teacher for the week, and brainstorm programming elements
  • Develop weekly Sunday evening program for high school students with the focus of engaging students to help them plug into the small group ministry.
  • Work with worship director, discipleship director, and administrative assistant to make sure all aspects of the program are covered including check-in, worship, tech, and small groups
  • Identify video and tech needs in advance and schedule them with LBC’s video and tech team
  • Event planning and execution
  • Schedule 4-5 events for middle school and 4-5 events for high school each year
  • Give specific purpose for each event – outreach, growth, etc.
  • Point person for events – delegate responsibilities to staff and workers, oversee registration, contracts, and follow up with venues
  • Create and give direct oversight for budgets, timelines, and policies
  • Administrative – Execution of details for retreats, summer camps, mission trips, big events, etc.

  • Creative – Must have the ability to be innovative in developing programs and experiences that connect with students and ultimately connect them with the Truth of Jesus
  • Experience in developing programs/events for students
  • Organized and detail oriented – foresees potential conflicts; able to think through a process and identify details that need to be addressed
  • Self-Starter – Able to function without being micro-managed and takes initiative with tasks
  • Flexible – Able to easily switch between routine, weekly tasks and random needs that come up
  • Team Player – Passionate to see this team and ministry succeed. Humble enough to take direction and insightful enough to give helpful input
  • Tech Savvy – You are competent in tech programs like ProPresenter, lighting software, and Planning Center or have the ability to learn how to use, train, and assist workers on these programs.
  • Love to Serve – Jump into any spot needed. No task is too big and no task is beneath you.
  • Great Smile – Not that you need the perfect teeth, but more importantly the attitude of someone who is welcoming and engaging to students, volunteers, and parents. Someone people love to be around.
