Job Description:


Position Purpose: The Staff Accountant is responsible for the accurate accounting and handling of all Radiant Church finances.

 

Position Responsibilities:

  • Implements and communicates financial policies and procedures to all departments including monthly budget monitoring and analysis of departmental income and expenses
  • Oversees accounts payable and accounts receivable
  • Manage financial accounting, monitoring, and reporting systems
  • Monitor and maintain proper cash flow control and cash reserves
  • Implements and maintains current general ledger accounts with cohesion in relation to ministry needs, growth and budget
  • Oversee all account transactions including account reconciliations and account transfers
  • Ensures adherence to the GAAP standard regulations
  • Provides status of financial position by collecting, analyzing, and reporting financial data
  • Ensures the accurate record-keeping of all financial activities
  • Monitors employee business card use and communicates proper policy and procedures to both new and existing employees
  • Prepares and oversees annual church budget by establishing, collecting, analyzing, and consolidating financial data; recommend adjustments through year as necessary; inputs annual budget into accounting software
  • Process all sales tax withholding reporting and payments
  • Works with independent accounting firm to orchestrate annual audits/reviews and ensures implementation of recommendations; is responsible for properly recording year end adjustments and paperwork for tax filing
  • Knowledge of financial regulations and tax laws specifically related to Non-profit organizations
  • Develop, monitor, and implement internal controls, checks and balances
  • Oversees and ensures accurate giving records, people records, and statements in FellowshipOne database and assists with database oversight
  • Manages all Radiant Church giving software and platforms

  • Mac OS X, Microsoft Office Suite, Pages, Numbers, Planning Center and FellowshipOne
  • Ability to manage multi-campus accounting systems and procedures while providing management with financial information by researching and analyzing accounts; preparing financial statements
  • Knowledge of credit card processing software and payment gateways
  • Knowledge of church specific tax laws and regulations
  • Proficiency in payroll and banking systems
  • Proficiency in accounting and ERP software systems
