DIRECTOR OF STUDENT MINISTRY Job Posting

Grace of Christ Presbyterian of Yakima

 

Our Hope for a Long-Term Director of Student Ministry:

-A deep love for Jesus and a commitment to sharing this love through service and disciple-making

-An ability to connect well with young people in a fun and engaging kind of way

-Ideally at least three years experience serving in youth ministry

-A love for teaching young people about Jesus and the scriptures in a way that helps them wrestle with the tough and life-long questions of faith

-Experience working with a team of volunteers

-A bachelor’s degree with some formal and/or on the job training in theology and/or youth ministry

-An aptitude for leading in innovative and creative ways to both add depth and growth to our student ministry

-An understanding of how best to use technology in youth ministry (especially social media)

-Availability to start full-time by summer/fall ‘17 with full benefits and salary based on education and experience

-A commitment to helping the youth ministry program thrive as a fully integrated part of our larger church

-Our mission is to create a safe community for teenagers where they experience the love of Jesus and learn what it means to be a follower of Jesus

-Our vision for this community is to be a place where teenagers:

                *learn about the abounding love and grace of Jesus

*learn about their place in the Kingdom of God and how they can practically be active in God’s work in the world

*feel safe to be themselves and wrestle with tough questions about life and faith

*are mentored and loved deeply by adults no matter where these young people are in their walk of faith

*experience belonging regardless of their faith background, home life, or personal issues

*are welcomed into the family of faith by the larger church
