The Executive Pastor of Ministry is responsible for the implementation of the vision, mission, motive, and core values of Christ Community Church, with a focus on evaluating, developing and implementing strategic ministry growth and expansion. As such, this position provides serves as part of the Executive Leadership Team; and oversees the integration of the ministries of Christ Community Church in a manner that supports our strategic direction.

 

Our ideal candidate for this full time executive level role will be a strong, gifted leader, who leads from a passionate, relational, pastor's heart. This person needs to be an innovative thinker with a savvy business and strategic mind, balancing an eye for details with the capacity to see the big picture. Significant senior level experience in a large church setting is vital for this role. With key Spiritual Gifts of Leadership, Administration, Communication, Shepherding, and Teaching, this individual will serve alongside our Senior Pastor, and Executive Team working together to set, drive, and implement the strategic vision for Christ Community Church.

OBJECTIVE

The Executive Pastor of Ministries is responsible for the effective day-to-day implementation of the vision, mission, motive, and core values of Christ Community Church, ensuring strategic ministry growth and expansion. As such, this position serves on the Executive Team; and oversees the integration of the ministries of Christ Community Church in a manner that supports our strategic direction.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES


MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Serves as part of the Executive Team (XT) to clarify and execute strategic goals and ministry objectives
  • Casts vision and engages with the XT to set the direction and strategic goals of church discipleship ministries from birth through senior adults as well as caring, connections, evangelism, community impact, and international impact ministries
  • Oversees and implements the strategic execution of all ministry related XT initiatives, including ministry evaluation, goal setting and continued church-wide and ministry development
  • Regularly evaluates the health and effectiveness of individual ministries from a one-church perspective
  • Serves as the primary advocate for promoting and implementing discipleship development for Community Church across all campuses
  • Maintains consistent focus on the church’s foundational principles which include: prayer and focusing on the transforming power of the Gospel message; the relevant teaching of God’s Word; the practice of worshipping together in Spirit and Truth; equipping and deploying the saints to participate in God’s work within the local church body and local community
  • Serves as the staff support/liaison to the campus representatives for the Elders and Trustee boards
  • Casts vision and implements overall church ministry strategy for the church
  • Functions as the staff liaison to the Elders; communicating needs, setting schedules and agendas, keeping minutes and overseeing the selection process for new Elders

PASTORAL CARE

  • Regular & Ongoing - prayer, shepherding/discipleship, ministry staff-on-call support to regional campuses, serving communion
  • As needed/directed – counseling, teaching, evangelism/outreach, weddings, funerals, baptism, baby dedications, missions trips

 OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES AS DIRECTED BY THE SENIOR PASTOR OR EXECUTIVE TEAM

The Executive Pastor of Ministries agrees to take on additional responsibilities as directed by the supervisor and as necessary for the continued development of the ministry of Christ Community Church.  These responsibilities will most likely be added according to the gifts, passions and talents of the employee, designed to address the growing and changing needs of the ministry team and may be added at the initiative and discretion of the supervisor.

 

RELATIONSHIPS

  • Reports to and takes direction from the Senior Pastor with regards to the vision, strategic goals and ministry objectives of Christ Community Church
  • Operates as a member of the Executive Team and works closely with XT members
  • Supervises the Outreach Team Captain, Children’s Team Captain, Student Ministries Team Captain, Community Groups Team Captain, and the Senior Pastor’s Executive Assistant
  • Interacts frequently with Team Captains, Elders, Trustees, and staff members
  • Maintains positive relationships with community organizations, community leaders, other church leaders
  • Submits to the Senior Pastor and Board of Elders of Christ Community Church

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree or Graduate Degree required in ministry related field
  • 7+ years of related experience required
  • Significant experience in senior level leadership in a large church setting preferred
  • Proven as a high capacity, catalytic leader, with a track record of mobilizing teams or volunteers
  • Experience recruiting, creating, developing, and deploying volunteer teams
  • Flexibility in scheduled work hours based upon special events and regular weekend services
  • Availability to participate in missions related ministry opportunities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills preferred – for use in a variety of settings from formal presentations and large community gatherings to information meetings to 1-on-1 discipleship opportunities
  • Key spiritual gifts of Leadership, Administration, Shepherding, Communication, and Teaching
  • A growing committed follower of Jesus Christ. (1 Tim 3:1-7; Titus 1:6-9)
  • Willingness to commit in membership to Christ Community Church within first 12 months of employment and to live within a 30 mile radius from any CCC campus, for the purpose of participating in and experiencing community within the local church family
  • Ability to comply with and support all policies, procedures, standards and statements outlined in the Employee Handbook, position papers and other governing documents created for Christ Community Church
