Job Description: FBC Fairborn is looking for a dynamic individual who is called to equip students and their families to know God and make Him known in Fairborn and beyond.
The Minister of Students will be a proven leader who can shape and develop a ministry that helps students form a life-long faith. The long-term goal is to provide seamless transitions from children’s ministry to middle school, and then to high school and
beyond. The Minister of Students will also be able to lead the staff and volunteers to take steps toward that vision. He must effectively communicate biblical truth with relevance and authenticity. The successful prospect for this position will possess a bachelor’s
degree (preferred), some experience in the local church or para-church, particularly in student ministries.
1 A passion and perseverance for leading volunteers, students, families and volunteers to grow in their walk with Christ.
2 An ability to create vision and leadership for a Student ministry in alignment with the vision of FBC Fairborn that meets the relevant needs of students and their families.
3 An ability to create connections with parents and guardians of the students in order to help them to develop spiritually as well, including but not limited to encouraging involvement in small groups (Sunday School Connection Groups) and other areas
4 A knowledge of and/or willingness to learn website development, media and audio/visual equipment and software.
5 Education: Bachelor’s Degree from a 4-year university preferred, but not required master’s level work a plus.
1 Develop and implement a program that helps students to know God and make Him known. This includes oversight of and focused involvement with youth (middle and high school), college and young adult singles.
2 Prepare and execute mid-week night meetings and events, creating a relevant space for students to hear teaching, connect with peers, and develop lasting relationships through small groups.
3 Interact with parents to promote a family-friendly ministry and to create overall awareness of the Student Ministry.
4 Develop and train Student Ministry leadership teams to serve in their area of giftedness.
5 Recruit, develop and coach adult volunteer leadership team to invest in relationships with students.
6 Utilize all relevant forms of social media as an avenue for communicating with and reaching students.
7 Manage the budget/funds with the oversight and approval of the Senior Pastor.
8 Form connections with the parents and guardians of students for the purpose of encouraging their involvement and spiritual growth in various areas of the church.
9 Work with the Minister of Worship to provide care and oversight to the youth ministry worship team.
10 In the absence of the pastor, perform pastoral duties assigned by the Pastor or Deacons.
11 Work with associational and state program whenever possible.
12 Other duties as assigned by the Senior Pastor.
