About the Position: 

The Lead Pastor of First McKinney will provide spiritual leadership by preaching the Gospel and communicating the primary vision for the church while leading the staff by example spiritually, personally and professionally. The individual that assumes this position will have a proven track record of leadership, organizational development and effective communication.

The Lead Pastor will model for others how to use their God-given passions and spiritual gifts for ministry and mission, while exemplifying leadership that is aware of and servant to all of First McKinney’s ministries. 


What We Are Searching For/Qualifications:

A master’s degree or seminary education is required, although a doctorate would be preferred.

The successful candidate will be an excellent communicator and will have a strong background and proven success in teaching, ministry development, team building, discipleship and ministry formation strategies. The candidate will be a strong and secure leader who is humble but decisive in their leadership. Proven experience in teaching, creative thinking, problem solving, and collaborative leadership in a growing environment is strongly preferred.

  • Significant leadership position, preferably in an executive role in a church of 1,000+.
  • An exceedingly strong ability to engage, equip, develop, and mobilize people.
  • Experience selecting and growing a vibrant leadership team
  • A history of having identified, developed and led a variety of projects and teams simultaneously.
  • Leadership proficiency in both large and small group surroundings.
  • Highly intuitive thinking capable of identifying and capitalizing on the potential of others.
