ChristChurch is a congregation with deep roots in Dalton and a deep love for the people their community. The church strives to live out its vision through corporate worship, Bible study, fellowship and outreach.


 ChristChurch (founded as First Presbyterian Church of Dalton in 1847)has a long history of committed membership in faithful service to God. In 2012, the membership entered the Evangelical Presbyterian Church (EPC) and committed fully to the EPC’s ‘essentials of faith.’ Since becoming part of the EPC, ChristChurch’s membership has stabilized and has started to grow. With Christ acknowledged as the center of our faith, ChristChurch is poised for strong spiritual and numerical growth. The church desires to awaken disciples by sharing the love of Christ and supporting true and faithful service to God, and their prayer is that God will call a Senior Pastor with the physical and spiritual energy to catalyze this impending growth.

About the Position:

The Senior Pastor of ChristChurch Presbyterian (EPC) will serve as the spiritual and directional point and primary communicator for ChristChurch. They will lead the executive leadership and staff of the church, while implementing the vision and mission of the church within the context of the local congregation. This individual will likely be gifted in visionary leadership, preaching, and shepherding so as to lead the church membership and staff to embody the vision of CCP in aspiring to be part of a global movement of congregations engaged together in God’s mission through transformation, multiplication and effective biblical leadership, embodying Jesus’ love to neighbors near and far. 

What We Are Searching For/Qualifications:

An undergraduate degree in a related field is required for this position along with a Masters of Divinity degree from an accredited seminary. A doctoral degree (or a willingness to obtain one) is strongly preferred but not required. The scope of experience and characteristics will include the following:

  • Be an ordained or meet requirements to become an ordained minister in the Presbyterian Church (EPC).
  • Loves Jesus and has a true passion for ministry.
  • Preaches dynamic sermons that are centered in Jesus Christ and the Bible.
  • Is grounded in a personal prayer life and a strong sense of call.
  • Accepts the Bible as the unique and authoritative witness to Jesus Christ.
  • Accepts and preaches Jesus Christ as the only way to salvation.
  • Is energetic and enjoys engaging with people in life and ministry.
  • Leads members to grow spiritually and challenges them to seek to fulfill the Great Commission.
  • A good listener who is readily accessible to members and staff.
  • Able to demonstrate management skills to lead a church staff of 10.
  • Has proven ability to develop ministries, creatively lead and develop staff and increase member participation.
  • Has the desire and ability to become part of the community and represent the church.

Dalton is nestled in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains in northwest Georgia and is the second largest city in northwest Georgia, after Rome. The city is home to many of the nation's floorcovering manufacturers and is known as the Carpet Capital of the World. Dalton has many historic houses, landmarks, and a rich Civil War history.
