Ahwatukee Preschool (a mission of Mountain View Lutheran Church) has an immediate opening for an experienced Preschool Director with strong organizational skills, a cooperative management style and excellent team building skills. Our 47-year-old, preschool was the 1st preschool in the Ahwatukee community. Our preschool is open from 8:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. August through May. We currently have 80+ students with varying schedules ranging in age from 18 months' old to 5 years.

A successful candidate will have classroom experience, strong communications skills, and an ability to effectively lead our talented teaching staff. S/He will work in partnership with Mountain View Lutheran Church to carry out the common mission of church and school to share Christ's love and grow disciples for Jesus. S/He will approach the Director's position as an integral part of Mountain View's Lutheran Church's ministry and its community life.

The candidate will be empathetic to the needs of both staff and families and be able to provide the needed support structure. Most importantly, s/he will ensure a safe, nurturing, supportive environment where children can learn, grow and succeed.


  • A bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education (ECE) or a related field, preferred.
  • A minimum of 24 months of childcare experience and/or teaching experience.
  • A minimum of three years administrative experience in the field of ECE/CD.
  • Familiarity with ELEA or NAEYC accreditation standard preferred.
  • Knowledge of state and national licensing and legal requirements.
  • Knowledge of computer systems, including Microsoft Office Suite and additional software as required
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • A Christian background and faith life, and a willingness to engage in the life of the Church
  • All Church business must be kept confidential from all but authorized individuals at all times.

Position is full-time salaried. Pay determined by qualifications and experience.
