Professional Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree from accredited college preferably in Educational Administration
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Leadership/Communication
  • Minimum 3 years as Principal or Head of School for elementary, Jr. or High School.  
  • 3-5 years working knowledge of Curriculum and Instruction
  • Proven Fundraising Experience

Job Summary

This school encompasses Preschool to 8th grades.  The Head of School is the chief academic and administrative officer, appointed by the Board of Directors to administer and implement the mission and operating policies of the Board.  The mission of this Christian School is to glorify God by serving parents in providing their children a distinctly Christ-centered, academically excellent foundation for life-long learning.  The Head of School provides day-to-day direction and operational practices that represent a consistent and effective model of integrity, efficiency, and accountability.  He/She will direct and participate in marketing and development for this Christian School.  



Job Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the administrative success, selection and coordination of all school programs, human resources and facilities
  • Provide leadership to a planning process designed and intended to assure the School’s readiness and ability to provide a sound, relevant, and spiritual educational experience for students
  • Ensures that the school is in compliance with all applicable governmental laws and regulations
  • Provide the leadership and management skills necessary to maximize the efforts of teachers and students in an environment conducive to spiritual and educational enhancement, growth and achievement
  • Articulates clearly and forcefully the school’s philosophy based on mission and goals
  • Attend all Board meetings and school functions
  • Executes the financial policy set by the Board of Directors, including communicating Board policy and decisions to parents
  • Establish objectives and procedures to ensure operational efficiency
  • Serves as the spiritual leader to staff and administration for spiritual development
  • Assists in the recruitment, selection and employment of teaching and non-teaching staff
  • Oversees and coordinates recruitment of students
  • Works with Head Teachers to coordinate curriculum
  • Directs principals in the execution of their responsibilities
  • Approves salaries for staff
  • Supervises teacher and student assessments
  • Coordinates all internal and external school communications
  • Serves as spokesperson for this Christian School
  • Actively involved in public relations for the school and fundraising initiatives
  • Advises Board on facilities and equipment improvement
  • Approves Student/Employee Handbooks and submits to Board for its approval
  • Remains informed of trends, research and legislation that may affect th School’s management, operations and policy
  • Submits budget reports to the Board
  • Serves as non-voting member of the Board and is expected to attend all Board meetings and functions
  • Keeps the Board President informed of all aspects of school operations
  • Informs Board of any issues or concerns that may require Board action or Board education
  • Represents the Board on Board decisions and policies to parents/staff when appropriate
  • All other duties as may be assigned by the Board
