Job Description:

The mission of Woodside Church is to love God, grow in grace, and share with others. We are a Christ-centered congregation with more than 60 Growth Groups, two campuses, five worship services and multiple mission causes and short-term trips.


Woodside Church in Yardley, PA seeks an innovative, Christ-centered Director of Discipleship for Children. The mission of this position is to help children (birth to fifth grade) love God, grow in grace, and share with others. The Director recruits, trains, and supervises ministry leaders and oversees all programming aspects of children’s ministries. The Director will help Woodside Christian Preschool families (many of whom are unchurched) to enter a relationship with Jesus and the congregation. The Director will offer pastoral care as needed to children and their families and play a key role in fostering a Christ-centered, loving, safe and nurturing environment. The Director is a member of the Woodside staff and reports to the Pastor and the Session.



  • Manage day-to-day operations of all Woodside’s children’s ministries
  • Recruit, train, and supervise ministry leaders and participants
  • Weekly communication eblast to parents and updating Children’s ministry information and forms on the website
  • Foster a safe, caring, and Christ-centered environment for children
  • Develop check in procedures and arrange for follow up with newcomers
  • Create practical ways for children in each ministry to reach out in mission and to invite their friends to join the ministry
  • Develop, improve, and implement the curriculum and programs 
  • Collaborate closely with Church staff to integrate the children’s ministry into the overall mission of Woodside Church

Qualifications and Experience:

  • A personal relationship with Jesus Christ which includes daily Scripture reading & prayer
  • A commitment to personal, professional, and spiritual growth
  • Bachelor’s degree in a major related to Education and/or Ministry
  • Experience teaching and leading in Children’s Ministry
  • A warm, enthusiastic, flexible personality and a sense of humor
  • A collaborative team spirit in working with pastors, church staff, and leaders
  • Self-motivation with strong leadership, interpersonal, organizational & communication skills
  • A visionary innovator who can implement new ideas and technology
  • Ability to develop positive pastoral relationships with children, families and staff
  • Ability to adapt church wide curriculum and mission  into the children’s ministry programs
