About the Organization:
Cove Church began in the home of John and Kathy Tanner when they moved to Huntsville in 1996 with a dream to plant a church that was different. In a few years, upon experiencing exponential growth and a thriving ministry proven through life transformations,
Cove Church moved into its current location to expand its ministry in a greater capacity. Today, Cove Church operates out of two campuses, with its main campus located in Hampton Cove, and its second campus in the Chase Community of Northeast Huntsville. The
hope and belief of the church is to impact its surrounding areas by reproducing an authentic, Christ-centered community of believers.
About the Position:
The Director of Student Ministries position is one that will serve as a primary leader and communicator of student ministries at Cove Church. While all ministries at Cove function within the framework of the larger church vision, the Director of Student
Ministries will seek to creatively implement that vision in a relevant and effective manner within the Student Ministry.
The student ministry is currently made up of about 250 students: 100 middle schoolers and 150 high schoolers. The current programming structure of Cove’s student ministry allows for the Director of Student Ministries to lead Sunday middle school programming
consisting of a time for social connectivity followed by worship, teaching and small group time. Wednesday nights include an integrated time of large group teaching and worship for high school students followed by small groups. This position will ultimately
be responsible for casting vision for the future of the Student Ministry with a focus on raising up student leaders to become fervent disciples of Christ.
What We Are Searching For/Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for this role will be a visionary leader and an equipper of volunteers, who will love and embrace creativity, imagination, and ingenuity, while possessing the vital traits of versatility and adaptability.
It is required that the new Student Pastor will hold a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university. Formal biblical training is preferred but not required.
The successful candidate will have led a student ministry of a 100 students, at minimum. They will be a highly gifted communicator and possess an energetic disposition. This individual will have a proven track record of creative thinking and problem solving,
as well as experience managing teams and building leaders.
