Job Description:

Position: Tech Arts Director

Vision: Provide technical leadership to our teams, equipment and resources to effectively execute weekend services and events to lead people to Jesus and drive the spiritual/cultural engagement of our church in alignment with our mission, vision & values

Responsibilities:

Develop & implement a best in class ministry model to support technical needs in a complex church environment which include all aspects of audio, video, lighting, and staging components in a direct and indirect reporting environment

  • Ensure all values & objectives related to weekend services are supported and executed with excellence
  • Create clear rules of engagement and roles & responsibilities for our Irvine campus.
  • Work with worship pastor and creative directors to effectively understand the vision and goals for each service/event
  • Recruit, develop & lead specialized technical staff to ensure we maintain excellence, reliability and support for all of our various experiences and buildings
  • Build a base of volunteer leaders and servants to serve in their passion and gifting where appropriate
  • Ensure excellent stewardship/management of all technical equipment and resources
  • Develop & manage department budget
  • Develop systems that share best practices for our Irvine campus

Expectations / Requirements

  • Develop & manage budget process in support of shared services model
  • Maintains a consistent devotional time with God
  • Maintains personal prayer / accountability group
  • Maintains a healthy balance in schedule while meeting high demands of weekend responsibilities
  • Understands it is a privilege to serve the Lord in vocational ministry. Those who serve God on staff at Mariners Church are expected to embrace a high biblical standard of personal conduct and lifestyle both public and personal, and sign the Leadership Commitment agreement.
  • Agrees with and lives out the vision and values of Mariners Church and adheres to the guidelines and conditions for employment as outlined in the Employee Handbook.

Other Ministry Responsibilities:

  • Participates in monthly all church staff meetings and weekly story time
  • Participates in Rooted & Life Groups

Relationships

  • Reports to Experience Pastor
  • Works closely with Communications, IT, Worship & Experience leaders and teams
  • Oversees large F/T & P/T technical staff and volunteers
