Job Description:

The Pastor of Operations is a ministerial position at Rocky and responsible for oversight of Human Resources (HR)/Personnel, Finances/Budgeting/Accounting & Payroll, Stewardship Education and Development, Information Technology (IT) and Site Services/Facilities/Office Administration.  Serves as part of the Executive Team.

           

Primary Responsibilities

Human Resources (HR)/Personnel: In conjunction with the HR Coordinator: 

Provides overall administration and support to the church staff in personnel matters; e.g. conflict resolution, hiring and termination of employment, compensation and benefits, policies, etc.

                                                                                                                                 

Finances/Accounting & Payroll: In conjunction with Director of Accounting

Supervises the accounting department and leads the Finance Advisory Team.

 

Stewardship Education and Development

Develops and recommends a plan for education and development of stewardship in the church. Currently this includes Financial Peace University, Journeys of Generosity, education about estate planning, etc.

 

Information Technology (IT): In conjunction with contracted IT services

Oversees the management of the IT systems, networks, and equipment for the church and, as it overlaps, for RMCA.

 

Site Services/Facilities: In conjunction with Site Services Director

Provides for safe and secure worship and work environments at both campuses for the church and for RMCA through the active cooperation of the Site Services Director and staff.

 

Ministerial Requirements

Extensive Church Leadership Experience—15 years experience as church leader participating in strategic planning, major decision making and problem solving.

Basic Business Acumen—5 years experience in successful business enterprise and/or church business world.

 

Reports to:  Lead Pastor and works closely with the Elders

 

Supervises these Direct Reports 

Human Resources Coordinator, Accounting Director, Site Services Director, IT Contractor, and various volunteers, contractors and service providers on case-by-case or as-needed basis.
