General Responsibilities for all Music and Creative Arts Directors   


Collaborate with SPT staff to execute the overall vision of the SPT and Grace Bible Church through the values of grace, humility and teamwork.
Prepare and execute the musical worship element of Sunday services through a Spirit-led and prayerful process of planning, rehearsal, implementation and evaluation.

     Coordinate with Teaching Pastor and SPT the vision, brainstorming and producing of engaging musical worship experiences.
     Direct rehearsals and coordinate vocal and band production.
     Contribute to GBC services and events by accompanying, singing, worship leading, etc. as required.
     Participate in regular evaluation systems to assess effectiveness of the entire Sunday morning experience.

Work with the Teaching Pastors and Ministry Directors to explore ways to best achieve GBC vision and strategy.


     Be a team player.
     Coordinate to support special events (SBW, MLL, etc.).
     Assist the other pastors in providing care to the congregation, particularly those in the arts.


Invest time in personal and professional growth.


     Get to know other worship leaders in the area.
     Practice continued self-leadership.
     Stay current on worship ideas, trends and technology, especially as it relates to current culture.
     Develop a songwriting culture.



Specific Responsibilities Norfolk Campus Music and Creative Arts Director


Serve as primary Worship Leader for Norfolk Campus


     Participate Norfolk campus Planning meetings
     Lead Production Team Volunteers at Campus
     Serve as Norfolk staff supporting the Norfolk vision
     Act as the SPT liaison to the Norfolk Campus
     Shepherd the Norfolk team members.
     Work with the Band Coordinator to oversee professional musicians.
     Execute stage design as given by Service Programming Director
     Maintain the orderliness of the Norfolk Campus.
     Audition new team members.
     Develop team members through rehearsal process
     Sing 2x a month at Norfolk Campus
     Lead ‘big’ Sundays at Norfolk
     Schedule your campus singers and band in conjunction with other worship leaders.
     Develop Worship Leader Apprentices through Leadership Pipeline


Oversee Development of Student Ministry Worship Teams


     Coordinate with Family Ministry to develop student musicians, singers and worship leaders.
     Provide support to student worship events and retreats.




     Oversee initial contact for audition process
     Process for new volunteers to join the musical worship team.
     Facilitate auditions taking place on both campuses
     Provide feedback and next steps to all who audition in accordance with of their skill level.


Coordinate Team building events for all SPT.


Lead worship for Women’s Community Groups on Wednesday morning.


Do initial follow up on all prospective team members for SPT.
