Job Description:

South Campus Worship Director



The South Campus Worship Director will serve by leading a well-rounded contemporary-styled worship ministry at the South Campus and the Young Adult ministry. Since worship is a corporate experience this person will be gifted in building an amazing worship team and developing a congregation that worships whole-heartedly. This is a full-time position.


Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Worship Leading

  • Work with Campus Pastor to design the overall worship environment.

  • Prepare the Order of Service with the Campus Teaching Pastor, considering theme of each worship service, special programs, and selection of songs.

  • Prepare special events/special elements (i.e., Christmas, Easter, etc.) in collaboration with the campus pastor.

  • Lead mid-week rehearsals.

  • Lead worship for the Young Adult ministry (meets weekly, 27 times per year).



  • Select worship songs, recruit musicians and vocalists and organize tech.

  • Coordinate and schedule of all worship-related teams on the campus.

  • Schedule band members, vocalists and guest worship leaders for the campus.

  • Oversee the worship budget.



  • Supervise sound, light technicians, and multi-media; work with other staff members in producing quality audio productions.

  • Recruit, audition, develop and direct the campus worship band and vocalists.

  • Provide spiritual direction for members of the worship team.

  • Recruit, schedule and shepherd the tech team.

  • Train bands in worship techniques, appreciation of worship, leadership, and participation in worship.

  • Attend all required meetings (SC staff meetings, weekly campus-wide staff meetings, weekly campus-wide worship planning, and other meetings as designated by the campus pastor).

  • Effectively collaborate with various CPC teams/departments.

  • Manage the purchase and maintenance of all campus worship equipment (if applicable).

  • Select and purchase worship instruments and equipment.

  • Supervise the maintenance of worship instruments.

  • Develop additional worship leaders.

  • A proven aptitude for leadership.

  • Vocal and instrumental excellence.

  • Arrangement of musical and vocal parts for worship team members.

  • Ability to pastor/shepherd worship team members.

  • A strong, vibrant, and committed relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ.

  • Excellent communication skills (writing and speaking).

  • An ability to lead a multi-faceted ministry.

  • A team player.

  • Bible school and training is preferable .

  • High adaptability, problem solver and creativity.

  • Fast-paced learner.

  • Strong organizational and administrative skills.



  • Build a culture of worship that follows the mood and feel of the sermon: energetic, heart-felt, contemplative, theologically accurate, passionate and contagious .

  • Raise awareness and understanding of true worship as well as improve the quality of worship both in and outside of the regular church services.

  • Identify those in the Body with gifts that aid in the worship ministry.

  • Implement the Best Practices of CPC Worship Ministry.
