Job Description: Youth Pastor, Full Time
Reports to: Lead Pastor
Department: Pastoral Staff

Qualification Requirements:


Exhibit a growing relationship with Jesus and a teachable spirit.


Exhibit a personal life congruent with biblical mandates for leaders (1 Tim. 3:1-7)  


Credentials with the Assemblies of God or the ability to obtain them within 6 months


Capable of creating and executing a long-term ministry vision that flows with overall vision of the church and lead pastor.


Exhibit a love for young people and a passion for evangelism and outreach, both personally and at the ministry level. Community outreach and connection with our public schools is vital. 


Ability to minister effectively to troubled youth (depression, self-harm, behavioral issues,

substance abuse, broken homes, history of abuse)


An individual who is friendly and highly relational, with a sense of humor and desire to invest heavily in the lives of teenagers consistenly and outside of our church campus. 




Lead and organize effective youth programs implementing fellowship, worship, biblical teaching, discipleship, and evangelism. Effectively make disciples of Jesus Christ.


Develop a youth fine arts program


Recruit, train and shepherd volunteer youth staff with diverse gifts and personalities.


Provide counseling and spiritual direction to youth on an individual basis.


Keep parents updated on ministry strategies and plans in a way that encourages partnership

and involvement.


Assist in the development and oversight of the youth ministry finances and budget


Seek to integrate youth ministry into all phases of church life to create a culture that is intentionally intergenerational, striving to unite with and complement other church ministries.


Participate as needed or requested in other areas of ministry such as visitation, prayer, preaching and teaching, and community outreach.


Work closely to support Michigan District A/G events such as camps, conventions, retreats


Make an impact on the community through partnerships with the public schools, community events, and local businesses. 


Although not a requirement for this position, the ability to lead worship and play/teach instrument(s) is a plus. 


Salary Range- $25,000-$30,000 plus a three bed/two bath parsonage with paid utilites located adjacent to our church.
