Are you interested in working in beautiful Stockton, California? Lincoln Presbyterian Church is looking for a Children’s Ministry Director/Pastor/Guru, and you might be just the person for the job! Read our vision statement, and if it
strikes your fancy, keep reading!
Lincoln vision for children’s ministry:
Lincoln's Children’s Ministry Program will equip and empower children to defend their faith, discover their spiritual gifts, and develop compassion for others. Our vibrant Awanas mid-week program will help to create an environment oozing with excitement
about God where children can’t wait to bring their friends to know a saving relationship with Jesus Christ. Our strong discipleship and mentoring programs, while seamlessly transitioning children through all of our youth ministries, will grow our children
into passionate Christian leaders who recognize injustice and never hesitate in serving others. Our Children's Ministry Program will supplement the faith based teaching in our children's homes, and will help all children who attend Lincoln to become fully
devoted followers of Christ.
What do you think? Is that something you can get behind?
Some key personality traits we are looking for might include being a sold out follower of Jesus Christ, regular laughter coming from your office, you love having people around you, you are an encourager, you are self-motivated, and you’ll
do anything (short of sinning) to help kids come to a saving and growing relationship with Christ. We are not going to tell you how to do it, but there will be goals and vision that will guide you to building a great ministry.
If you want to throw your name into the hat for stage 1, first thing to do is pray! Then send along your resume and cover letter (addressed to Pastor Matt) to firstname.lastname@example.org. Please only apply if you can legally work in the USA.
Lincoln (www.lincolnpres.org) is a Presbyterian Church (ECO), but we would rather be known as Christ followers than uber denominational. We are located in the Lincoln Village area of Stockton. Our staff is awesome – we consider each other family. You
are known here. The senior pastor is long tenured, and we are a Session led church -- but no one is micromanaged and there is lots of room for creativity and growth. You should also know we lean conservative theologically, but liberal with our love of neighbor.
We’re not perfect (by a long shot!), but we are a friendly lot.
Stockton is a big town with lots of amenities close by – malls, food, theaters, and the Delta (it is the furthest inland port in the US!). We might have a gang or two, but what big city doesn’t? On the brighter side, we are also close to Sacramento, San
Francisco Bay Area, and the beautiful Sierra Nevada Mountains (including Lake Tahoe!). Don’t bring your surf board, we’re not that part of California. It is cheaper to live in Stockton than most of the major metro areas of CA, so we got that going for us
– which is nice.
Full time position with health care benefits, vacation and sick leave, professional expenses, retirement after first year anniversary, and all the donut holes you can eat on Sunday mornings.
Please do not apply through the churchstaffing website. Priority consideration given to those on the West Coast. Grace and peace!
