Job Description:

The Ark Church in Conroe, Texas (just north of Houston) is seeking an experienced Audio Engineer / Systems Technician who has a passion for planning, set-up, operation and maintenance of audio, video, and lighting equipment.  Working under the Technical Director to bring excellence, execution, and leadership to the Production Dept.


This position will have a strong emphasis on Audio and provide an incredible opportunity to grow, refine and/or develop new skills.  We are looking for a self-initiating, motivated, problem-solving action-oriented person.  Organization and administration are a must with the flexibility to both lead and follow, respond quickly and efficiently to on-call situations, and be able to work a flexible schedule.

  • High School Diploma

  • Associates or Bachelors Degree (Required)


  • Minimum of 1 years experience in live events production (Church & Corporate Prefered)
  • Recently worked for a Church, Rental house, or Production company
  • Working knowledge of both Mac and Windows Operating Systems
  • Able to edit audio and video using the Adobe Suite of products
  • Demonstrate proficiency with driving a scissor and articulating boom lift’s
  • Working knowledge of hand tools, power tools, saws, welder, plasma cutter

Responsibilities / Skills

  • Audio Engineer for Worship Services - (Knowledge of AVID and Yamaha Digital Consoles)

  • Working knowledge of Roland M48 Mixers, REAC Protocol, and Software

  • Knowledge of Rigging, Motors, and Safety Equipment

  • Assist with planning and installation of A/V/L and Structured Cabling

  • Provide routine maintenance for all Equipment

  • Responsible for Main Stage and other venue stages throughout campus

  • Provide Technical Direction for services and special events

  • Able to fabricate concept from metal, wood, and various other materials

  • Create and construct new stage designs 6-8 times a year

  • Meet with other departments to assist with Production needs

  • Managing volunteers and production sheets through Planning Center Online

Work Environment

  • Be a part of a vibrant, creative, and fun production team
  • Required to work all services, Christmas and Easter as well as other events outside normal hours
  • Work week is Sunday - Thursday
  • Wear a two-way radio with a surveillance kit and wireless comm - when needed
  • Be able to lift 50lbs, stand on your feet for lengths of time
