Cold Springs Church consists of a community of believers journeying together as they seek to be more like Jesus. This is driven by a desire to know God and His truth, while experiencing God's power and living out the tenets of the faith. As a church that uniquely exudes authenticity, inclusivity, humility, biblical learning, and relational connectivity, Cold Springs is passionate about seeing intergenerational communities come to Jesus and grow deep in their journey with Him.

The church was founded in 1948 as a part of American Baptist Churches USA. In 1997, Pastor David Cooke was called to the church as a young man with a vision to fuel the small, yet potential filled, congregation with leadership that would help transform the church into a thriving multi-generational community. Almost 20 years later, under his visionary leadership to propel people and organizations to discovering their fullest potential, Cold Springs Church has successfully blossomed into a spiritually and relationally healthy, growing, thriving congregation.

The church is made of approximately 600, with an average of 400+ regular attendees and strong staff teams who sustain and give life to the mission of Cold Springs. Its strategic plan for the next season includes connecting more people, and equipping them to serve through a small group system that creates on-ramps for believers to be engaged in life groups, making it a catalyst for one-on-one equipping and discipleship efforts.

The Worship Arts Pastor is responsible for facilitating authentic and transcendent worship of God throughout the life of Cold Springs Church. This will be done by creating environments conducive to encountering Jesus and providing leadership to the ministry teams that facilitate a deeper heart of worship with the goal people come to faith in Jesus and grow deep in their faith as disciples of Jesus.

This individual will be a lifelong learner marked by qualities of an influencer, relator, builder, and an achiever with a servant’s heart, along with the ability to offer strategic input. The ideal candidate for the position will reflect extroverted qualities that communicate authenticity and approachability both on and off the stage. A highly gifted musician, this individual will have a solid understanding of all aspects involving worship ministry, which will be proven through 2-3 years in worship leadership, at minimum.

The City of Placerville contains a population 10,350, with 80,000 in the church’s primary area of influence within a 10-mile radius. The region is centrally located between Sacramento, the State capitol, and South Lake Tahoe, world-famous recreation center. Situated above the fog line and below the snow line, Placerville boasts an ideal climate with four distinct seasons. Accessibility to the city is via State Highway 49 and U.S. Highway 50, along one of the most traveled corridors in California. Placerville's treasured heritage is reflected in the historical, nineteenth century architecture of its downtown core. In addition, it is the County seat and the center of financial, commercial, civic, and Government activity.

Placerville is a charming California ‘gold rush’ town named after the placer gold deposits found in its river beds and hills in the late 1840’s. Today, it serves as a hub for many nearby destinations and activities such as Apple Hill Ranches, Historic Coloma, the American River, and the El Dorado National Forest. Within the hub, local merchants, property owners, and government officials constantly strive to insure and continue the city’s economic vitality. With business improvement and revitalization projects to preserve, promote, and enhance the quality of life for all in the community growth endeavors complement the rich heritage and price of the city.

Families and individuals largely move to the city due to the intimacy and closely-knit community it offers. This highly value-oriented city is dominated by the middle class, although a mix of both highly educated and blue-collar citizens make a presence. The city-town epitomizes a small town look and feel, while offering a charming quality of life in a quiet setting. Whether running a business, raising a family, or retiring, residents of Placerville have the best of both worlds; small-town ambiance and large-city opportunity.
