Cross Point Church birthed out of a desire to build a community of believers whose vision is to be radically devoted to Christ, irrevocably committed to one another, and relentlessly dedicated to reaching the lost. This desire includes creating a place where
“everyone’s welcome, because nobody’s perfect, and anything’s possible.” Being deeply inspired to turn this idea into a reality, a small group of believers began meeting at a local Elementary school, in 2002. Upon experiencing radical growth over the next
several years, Cross Point expanded its meeting locations to multiple permanent facilities across the vicinity of Nashville.
Pastor Pete Wilson led this group through growth from 30 to over 7,000 per week. He stepped down earlier this year due to personal reasons, and this search is to find his successor.
Today, Cross Point Church is a dynamic, staff-led, multisite church that is focused on communicating the timeless truth of God’s Word in a culturally relevant way. Moreover, it has successfully sustained its core pillars of evangelism, discipleship, and
community over the years, and continues to excel in those areas. Senior Pastor Pete Wilson has led the church capably for nearly fifteen years, but his unforeseen departure has brought the church to a transition in leadership. Thus far, the church is moving
through the transition well. Enthusiasm remains high about the church, vision is consistent, and attendance and giving are in a healthy place. As Cross Point prayerfully identifies the next leader God is calling to the church, they are optimistic and confident
that the church's best days are yet to come.
The next Senior Pastor will provide primary spiritual, visionary, and strategic leadership to Cross Point Church. The successful candidate will sustain the heritage of Cross Point, and commit to leading the church to maintain health through a balance of
discipleship, community, and evangelism. This individual will first and foremost be an excellent vision caster with stellar communication abilities, and they will play a key role in fostering relational influence across all campuses.
They will lead with balance and intentionality, while promoting culture, collaboration, and creativity across the communities of Cross Point Church. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a deep prayer life and a proven commitment to balancing the rhythms
of work and life. They will likely be gifted in teaching and leading, so as to navigate the vision of the church, and execute the logistical details of the role. Second, the ideal candidate will either have an ability to create scalable systems, or a proven
ability to delegate that task. It is likely that the successful candidate will have a college degree, and it is expected that they have some measure of theological training. They will possess a measure of life experience that conveys a personal spiritual “gravitas”
to those around them.
This prospective candidate will enter a staff culture that is largely authentic, vulnerable, and fun, complemented with a work ethic that is high capacity. It functions as an exceedingly collaborative and life-giving entity that is usually malleable
